Israel will allow fuel, medicine into Gaza - official

<snip>
Now, T-F, I have to tell you, I have no evidence whatsoever to present here that this exploding arms depot contained arms at all. It may have been a warehouse for toilet paper, I just don't know.
Web....its been a long and difficult road but I believe its been worth it in the end....as you can see, you are entitled to speculate, its free speech.

I think that arms depot probably was an arms depot too because recently Israel have been pretty good at hitting actual targets and limiting civilian deaths, to thier credit.

Meanwhile, it has been reported by Hamas-controlled TV in Gaza that 'Assud', a jew-eating rabbit, was sneaked into Gaza from Egypt after the border was breached last month.

You just cannot make this stuff up.

I'm trying to see if there are any photos online of the rabbit infiltrating into Gaza, to provide evidence of that claim -----

OK, here ya go:

bugs%20bunny.jpg

Is that your point? Its unreasonable to "dog" people for evidence to back up thier claims?
Do you even know what "dog" means? There's no reason to dog anyone and that bullcrap about your quest for "evidence" doesn't get any more credible by endlessly repeating it -ya can't polish a turd TF. The very first time you asked for irrefutable "evidence" that those crates the crane hoisted did in fact contain weapons, webfusion doesn't deliver. How could he? If he is fabricating the crane thing and/or his being privy to Israeli intel, he obviously can't produce "evidence." If he's not fabricating what he claims, he still can't produce the irrefutable "evidence" you act like you need and you should know why unless you're so naive that you expect webfusion, and in extension, the Israeli intelligence community, to betray their assets just to make a semi-literate JREF poster calling himself "The Fool" shut the hell up. So, you didn't get your "evidence," evidence that was impossible to produce at any rate, and then what did you do? You continued to harp on it ad nauseum, page after page in a petty effort to discredit webfusion, as though his entire credibility balanced at the end of that one crane. You did this without ever contributing anything of substance yourself and curiously seem to think your behavior here was justified and Randi should pat you on the head for being a good skeptic. It's not and you're not.
sigh, you would be popular in the conspiracy theory forum, why don't you go there and defend those that make claims without evidence that they know what "really happened". There are lots of people in there "dogging" them for you to whine at.
Who's whining FT? Hell, I'm not even "sighing." ;) You obviously don't know me very well and apparently don't have much of a grasp of what goes on in the CT forum either. Try it, I think you'll find out there's a difference between webfusion and Truthers and you and the fine folks there that address those Truthers. For one thing they don't dog people, for another they actually bring something to the table, and lastly they actually debunk things, not simply nitpick ad nauseum in a pathetic quest for brownie points or to bait someone.
Ok, pin the ears back I've got something to tell you about.
Aren't you being hasty here? I mean here you are claiming I have ears without ever seeing me. Do you have evidence for that claim? Maybe I should dog you about stating 'speculation as fact' for the next 3 or 4 pages over something this inane, eh? Heh, I'd be just like you then, wouldn't I?
The attitude that you are defending gets people killed. Strong statement?
No, asinine statement. The only attitude I'm addressing is yours and I sure as hell ain't defending it.
Ok lets assume that on that day when the blockade collapsed that the IDF was indeed happy to accept the same claim as web's claim that it was a "fact" that those cranes that were lifting cattle and crates over walls and fences actually contained rockets. They would have been quite justified in blowing them to bits. They accepted webs "fact"....are you confident enough in the "facts" about those cranes to accept an attack on them? Web seems a bit bemused that they were not attacked....Hmmmmm, maybe the line he claims he was fed from an un-named source was not good enough for the IDF to eliminate the "rockets"???

so now extrapolate that from cranes (which you think I'm fixated on) to other things. "that car contains a Hamas leader" its a FACT ok......blow it up. That house is a terrorist HQ...its a FACT ok..... you may wish to accept webs "facts" as such if you wish, its your choice but it still doesn't change it from speculation if there is no evidence.
Israel has a pretty good track-record picking off militant leaders whether they're in vehicles or structures and, while there are collateral deaths, it's usually due to the noncombatants being in close proximity to those targeted. You should know that if you follow this stuff. That indicates good intel, not speculation. Riddle me this, can you provide any more evidence that weaponry was not smuggled in crates and hoisted into Gaza that day than webfusion brought to the table for the opposite scenario? Didn't think so. The only FACT here TF is that you don't know and you don't even seem able to recognize that you don't know. Somewhere along the way you have lost your ability to examine things objectively and consequently your skeptical rationality went out the window. Maybe it's a Jew thing or maybe it was never there in the first place, but whatever your story you seem to have forgotten that absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. You and I don't sit in on Israeli intel briefings nor know the reliability of webfusion's claims regarding inside information, so yeah, maybe he is making things up, but then again, maybe he isn't. We don't know, do we? There is one thing we do know though, arms are being smuggled into Gaza. When does the method of smuggling supersede the ramifications of the smuggling itself? The real answer is that it doesn't. Someone in Sderot doesn't give a rat's ass if the Qassams raining down on them happened to be in a crate hoisted by a crane at one point.

You could have just asked for evidence and when not given it revel in your "victory" and move on FT. Instead you made a boorish arse out of yourself.

no web..as usual none of your posted links mentions your favourite cranes or what they were lifting over the fence that day. It does confirm that smuggling happens....which is of course not contested. Looks like we have to continue to rely on your secret sources and the stuff you know is said in the Israeli parliament that is not mentioned in publicly available sources.
Don't you know that Webfusion just has to be taken on faith and faith alone?

I am afraid this rant just demonstrated conclusively the need for real sceptics like The Fool to stand up for evidence rather than assertion.

OIC. Now TheFool is totally focused on the word "heavy" (cranes) --
as if my claim is somehow reduced in impact by looking at the definition of what exact types of cranes were used!
I came in here making mention of the fact that cranes were used to get in masses of weaponry across the walls, and T-F is still stuck trying to determine how come the MSM doesn't have photos and articles about these events! What a joker you are, T-F. Ha Ha. Very funny.

Sometimes I can only sit here and scratch my head in wonder...

When you realise the need to stand by your claims you might begin to be taken seriously. Until then ...

Looks nice, this Ramat Gan. I'll have a look at it later on in Google Earth. :)

I just thought about this "collective punishment" that's been in the talks here. Can't the qassam rocket attacks, or the suicide bombings also been labelled as collective punishment? Anyone thought of that?

Halleluja.

Yes. That partly why they're called terrorist attacks.

It cuts both ways. If you call them terrorists for engaging in collective punishment you have to call everyone terrorists who engage in collective punishment. Glad you get it now.

Just take a look at the news:

(From an article quoting the head of UNRWA)

"...And indeed, Abu Zayd says she does not recall a situation in the territories as bad as the one faced by the Gaza Strip since the disengagement, and especially in the last few weeks. Even in the most difficult days during the second intifada, she says, the elevators in apartment buildings worked, and water flowed in the taps. Currently, darkness also has fallen on refugees' homes in the camps, and food is gradually running out."

Hmmmmmmmmm... this comes from a report dated:
July 2006.

Could it be? Gaza Strip leaders have been fine-tuning their "collective punishment" BS and whining about their "humanitarian crisis" for a few years already.

The very first time you asked for irrefutable "evidence" that those crates the crane hoisted did in fact contain weapons, webfusion doesn't deliver. How could he?
I've trimmed the rest because you seem to have hit on the Idea. Even if you need to get some other issues off your chest.

He couldn't......yet he continued and continues to insist it was a fact and continued and still continues to claim people are not true skeptics for not accepting it as fact.

do you agree with web? Its a fact?
Riddle me this, can you provide any more evidence that weaponry was not smuggled in crates and hoisted into Gaza that day than webfusion brought to the table for the opposite scenario? Didn't think so.
you are asking me to prove a negative? If you hang around here a bit longer you will learn about claims and the onus of evidence. For example can you show me evidence that there is not an invisible pink unicorn in my broom closet? Does that lack of evidence improve the case for the existance of my invisible pink unicorn?

Edit to add: blow up by all means but try to keep a lid on the excesses. If you go getting all steamed up and personal...asking me if I have a "Jew thing" you will get lumps of the thread sent to the naughty thread bin...

T-F continues:
He (meaning me) couldn't (provide evidence)......yet he continued and continues to insist it was a fact and continued and still continues to claim people are not true skeptics for not accepting it as fact.

1. Cranes went up, and lifted livestock and 'motocycle crates' over the wall. They were plainly visible to everyone, in the light of day. I provided evidence of that (as quoted in the press)

2. HAMAS & co. brought over large quantities of heavy weapons. I provided evidence of that (as quoted in the press)

3. IAF 'spotters' knew (and know) when a mosquito sneezes in Gaza. They have remote viewing UAV's in the air night and day. I provided evidence of that (as quoted in the press)

4. I have acquaintances who are in the IAF reserves, and they told me that they saw, using their own eyes, (using cameras on remote UAV's, I'll cautiously reveal at this point, since this is not specifically classified info) heavy truck-mounted cranes "MANOFIM" hoisting boxes of what they identified as munitions. Their orders were to leave them alone, since there were so many civilians nearby.

This part I cannot provide concrete overt evidence for. This part you have to just use your brain and accept as a part of reality that is beyond my ability to "show you" ---- and either you accept what I offered or you sit there and say something to the effect of: "No, this is ridiculous, it's the same as invisible pink unicorns, and without absolute proof or knowing who his personal sources are, no, sorry, his claim cannot be accepted, and since the press never reported it, it is safe to say that no cranes shifted missiles. Webfusion is obviously lying."

5. The IAF subsequently found out where some arms were being stored, and bombed a warehouse full of 'em! I provided evidence of that (as quoted in the press) --

Now, all of this points to the fact that trucks transported the crates which they had loaded with their cranes.

This, JREF friends, is known as "Circumstantial Evidence" and I think my case is pretty damn good, under the circumstances!

I've seen people go to prison with less evidence presented!

No, it's not a proven fact and I seemed to have missed the part where webfusion stated "true skeptics" need to accept it as same. As I already pointed out in post #348 I had no problem with your initial quest for evidence TF, it's your obsessive dogging and inability to provide anything of substance yourself that makes your motivations in this thread suspect.

No, just pointing out the folly of obsessing on one particular claim when A) you don't know what really was in those crates, B) it's an incontestable fact that smuggling has happened and continues to happen. Let me put it another way - this wasn't a "9-11 was an inside job" or Bigfoot claim where you would have every right to push for evidence until the claimant decided to put up or take his/her spiel elsewhere. Fact is, smuggling happens over there so I really didn't (and still don't) see the point of your obsession with regard to one claim of something you even concede happens.

Spare me the lecture TF. Don't let my low post count here fool you, I've been around and probably know more about rational skepticism than you do. BTW, I prefer the "invisible elf" analogy myself - woos hated it. My disagreement with you isn't over the necessity of evidence, it's over your inability to move on when webfusion didn't provide it in that one instance. I think webfusion made a mistake himself in stating the crane-thing as fact when, for reasons I've already covered in my prior post, he couldn't hope to qualify it. You had him TF but made yourself look bad by overdoing it. The only way I can agree with your persistence on that one instance of generally accepted smuggling is if you are skeptical that the smuggling actually occurs at all. I think Mycroft summed up my POV a page back and I'll post it again since you might have him on 'ignore:'
Mycroft said:
Isn't this kind of nit-picking embarrassing to you? One can imagine you having a similar argument over Jeffrey Dahmer, conceding that he ate people but demanding proof that he used a fork in his cannibalism.
Heh, I should have nominated that post.

I apologize for that TF. I laid it on a little thick in my prior post because I let my emotions fuel it and posted my reply before I should have. There was no way you could have known the personal cost 9/11 had on me, or why, when I read your "suggestion" regarding the Conspiracy Theory forum (which involves Truthers that milk what happened), I took it as more than a typical putdown. That's the primary reason you won't see me posting in too many Truther threads there, I'd get myself banned.

Anyway, I'd love to keep this going, as it beats the hell out of arguing over the merits of another lame field of presidential hopefuls or wading into the predictable conservative-liberal ideological scrums found elsewhere in the Politics forum but I'm headed for warmer climes for a few weeks where my primary concern will be getting an even tan without burning. :)

I stand by the claim. I know what I know.

T-F insisted:
"I can see that you are desperately trying to water your claim down to general weapons smuggling"

Nope. Not at all. My original statement was perfectly clear, and here it is again:
(As mentioned, inter-alia, in post 169)
http://www.internationalskeptics.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3375670&postcount=169
And now, with the breach in the border, HAMAS is getting whatever they want across --- money, small arms, missiles, explosives, you name it. They even put up heavy cranes to lift over crates of Katyusha rockets, high-caliber machine guns, and mortars.

somewhere with warm climates and even tans? Sounds interesting, where is that? Bet 5 bucks its not Gaza. :)

BREAKING NEWS :

Israel Defense Forces troops killed a Hamas militant during clashes in Rafah on Sunday, the Islamist group and medical workers said.

Six other gunmen and a civilian were wounded as Israeli troops backed by aircraft entered the Rafah zone (along the border with Egypt) and clashed with Palestinian terrorist groups, Hamas security sources said.

Bottom line --- Israeli troops are operating inside Rafah, and seeking to eliminate specific HAMAS individuals.

Good riddance.

I see they haven't given up control of the Gaza concentration camp then.

And murdering innocent people in the process. Plus ca change. But that's the IDF's well known MO. Just like Hamas and Hezbollah.

Yea, for you maybe. But hey, I'm a racist, right? So what do I know.

Correct.
