Who actually committed the crime on 9/11?

The FBI announced that they did not have a single shred of evidence linking Osama Bin Laden to the 9/11 caper, yet many of you are saying he was the mastermind behind it.

Are you mistaken or is the FBI?

You sure your name isn't bwinwrong?

Ya know, in all the years the FBI was investigating and following Al Capone around, they never came up with enough evidence to convict him of any of the crimes his organization committed. The FBI knew he was giving the orders, knew he was funding it, yet could never prove it. Funny that, huh? He went to prison for tax evasion. Best they could come up with.

Sorta sounds familiar, doesn't it?

St. Valentine's Day Massacre was a false flag. EVERYONE knows that.

It Was Miss Scarlet In the Garden With the Dagger.

I finally got to make the obligatory "Clue" joke in a "Who Commited 9/11 thread".

In a way it was, Capone's men got inside by wearing police uniforms.

Funny thing though, Capone was well known as claiming proudly that he was behind the massacre, but he, nor anyone else, was ever charged. In fact Capone was eventually convicted on Tax Fraud.

Here is the original story of the quote alleged to have been given by an FBI official:

On June 5, 2006, the Muckraker Report contacted the FBI Headquarters, (202) 324-3000, to learn why Bin Laden’s Most Wanted poster did not indicate that Usama was also wanted in connection with 9/11. The Muckraker Report spoke with Rex Tomb, Chief of Investigative Publicity for the FBI. When asked why there is no mention of 9/11 on Bin Laden’s Most Wanted web page, Tomb said, “The reason why 9/11 is not mentioned on Usama Bin Laden’s Most Wanted page is because the FBI has no hard evidence connecting Bin Laden to 9/11.”

Surprised by the ease in which this FBI spokesman made such an astonishing statement, I asked, “How this was possible?” Tomb continued, “Bin Laden has not been formally charged in connection to 9/11.” I asked, “How does that work?” Tomb continued, “The FBI gathers evidence. Once evidence is gathered, it is turned over to the Department of Justice. The Department of Justice than decides whether it has enough evidence to present to a federal grand jury. In the case of the 1998 United States Embassies being bombed, Bin Laden has been formally indicted and charged by a grand jury. He has not been formally indicted and charged in connection with 9/11 because the FBI has no hard evidence connected Bin Laden to 9/11.”[emphasis added]

First, the article doesn't say what you claim it says--there's nothing about "not a shred of evidence."

Second, from the testimony of Dale L. Watson, Executive Assistant Director of the FBI's Counterterrorism/Counterintelligence Division, February 6, 2002, before the Senate Intelligence Committee:

The evidence linking Al-Qaeda and Bin Laden to the attacks of September 11 is clear and irrefutable.

This is from the FBI's own web site. So, even assuming for the sake of argument that Tomb was not misquoted or quoted out of context, which statement is more likely to be accurate? The prepared, sworn testimony of a high-ranking FBI official before a Congressional committee, or a presumably off-the-cuff response to an unexpected question?

Finally, here is a statement Tomb made in 2001, quoted in a Wired article:

Fugitives on the list must be formally charged with a crime, and bin Laden is still only a suspect in the recent attacks in New York City and Washington.

"There's going to be a considerable amount of time before anyone associated with the attacks is actually charged," said Rex Tomb, who is head of the FBI's chief fugitive publicity unit and helps decide which fugitives appear on the [Most Wanted] list. "To be charged with a crime, this means we have found evidence to confirm our suspicions, and a prosecutor has said we will pursue this case in court."

Bin Laden had already been indicted for the 1998 embassy bombings, and is eligible for the death penalty. What's the point of going to the additional time and trouble to indict him again, especially when he's exceedingly unlikely ever to be captured alive to stand trial?

To Hell with the critics. Show some backbone and say what you think, even if you're wrong.

Yeah, that's the problem with you debunkers! No Backbone! Not a single one of you are willing to stick to a theory! Gravy, that guy's all over the place! Pick a side! And R.Mackey, does anyone know what he really thinks? And don't even get me started on that beachnut character, that guy's got so many notes, he sounds like a symphony! And the rest of you, so many waffles I could open an IHOP. You really need to take a lesson from the twoofers, and come up with a single, self-consistent story, and stick to it!

Why, to keep investigooglers from getting suspicious of course!

Ok, Horatius, you owe me a keyboard and quite possibly a monitor as well, if I can't get the Coke cleaned off of it. :D

 Clearly this forum entertains a lot of very intelligent folks who think of themselves as scientific critical thinking investigators. Personally, I don't see how anyone can "watch" the video of the WTC Building Number 7 collapse and believe it just fell down so beautifully..all from fatigue?

Why yes I am a critical thinker, thanks for noticing. And I don't think there is a single person in this forum who would describe the collapse of WTC7 as "beautiful". Not sure where you got that from. And what else can anyone do besides "watch" the collapse when shown a video of it? Careful with those quotation marks they can make you look quite silly. Oh and the collapse was not all from "fatigue". Please do your research and let us know when you have a better understanding of the events that took place on 9/11. Thanks.

Arguments from incredulity hold no weight here. If reality doesn't match your beliefs, you need to adjust your beliefs. Do you understand this concept?

Since the FBI said they don't have any evidence linking either Osama or Saddam to the crime on 9/11,
Please don't make things up. It makes you look bad and cannot possibly further your argument.

who do you feel actually did commit this crime?
Al Qaeda, as all the evidence says and as its members, including bin Laden, have repeatedly, proudly, admitted.

No one has presented any evidence to the contrary.

The FBI announced that they did not have a single shred of evidence linking Osama Bin Laden to the 9/11 caper, yet many of you are saying he was the mastermind behind it.
You're making things up again. And I haven't seen anyone here say that KSM wasn't the mastermind. Bin Laden was involved and he selected some of the hijackers, but he was not the operational planner or financier. Please try to get your facts straight. You'll find lots of information about the terrorists and their admissions of guilt here. If this subject is of interest to you, I strongly recommend that you read the books on the reading list.

Will you?

Stupid debunkers! With their sciency reports and experts....

OK, I'll take you up on your challenge: I think anyone who believes that 9/11 was an inside job -- or who, in fact, believes anything significantly different from the generally accepted version that it was the work of 19 hijackers and their supporters -- is stupid, crazy, juvenile, misinformed, or some combination of those traits. It's just one content and logic free post after the other with you guys, coming here like you actually have something to say, assuming an intellectual superiority that you couldn't even begin to earn in a million years. I don't know what gaping hole in your life CTs fill, but trust me, there's got to be vastly better ways than this to fill it. As it is, you're running the very real risk of ending up isolated from your family and friends. Your fellow CTers -- people who are stupid, crazy, juvenile, or misinformed -- are very poor substitutes.

At best, you'll eventually grow out of this, and chalk up your flirtation with CTs as an embarassing, wasted period in your life. At worst, you have embarked on a lifetime of worthlessness, where all your efforts on behalf of CTs will be of less value than contributing a single cent to charity.

So the choice is yours: leave this insane crap behind and divert that energy to activities that actually mean sometime, or continue to urinate your life down the drain.

Well, you did ask me to say what I think. And that's it.

...so...what's the latest fiction as to why no Arabic, or even Arabic-sounding, names appeared on any of the sedulously maintained, computerized passenger lists?

They were hiding in the wheel-wells with their box cutters before take-off?

...yeah..."generally accepted version"...a real skeptic's treat...conformist.

You are wrong! Too easy.

Oops, darn, you do not understand UBL is already wanted. After 9/11 they added 25 million dollars, why are you too lazy to get him. Wrong again. If you can read the FBI wants UBL for not only some other stuff but look at the this catch all statement that shows you are kind of a poor, POOR, researcher!
Bin Laden is a suspect in other terrorist attacks throughout the world.
The FBI says he is a suspect in other terrorist attacks around the world. This makes your UBL is not wanted for 9/11 kind of stupid. I doubt you can understand 9/11 or the justice system. What do you know backed with some facts!?

Of course, when you express your opinion about this you will be labeled a Conspiracy Theorist. To Hell with the critics. Show some backbone and say what you think, even if you're wrong.
No you are a fact less 9/11 truth person, no facts, no evidence, no idea what happen. You just repeat hearsay from other people! Watch what you say next, just some false hearsay from ...

Personally, I think Francesco Cossiga was telling the truth, not just being sarcastic, when he said the CIA and MOSSAD ran the operation. I could be wrong. Please share your thoughts on this matter.
Wrong again. The guy has some nut case ideas and you agree with them! So? You have no facts. Just talk and hearsay. Poor research leads to stupid statements.

Wait; I thought you guys swore they were still alive BASED ON THE NAMES ON THE MANIFESTS!

Can you dudes ever get your stories straight, or do you just keep making it up as you go along?

No you just can't tell the difference between a passenger and a victims list. Try reality for once.
