What reasons can it have???? In order to say that it is a myth, you need to explain what reasons must the religious community have to invent it.

Anyway, my question to Xenon was not about horny teenagers who would dip their wicks in anything that breathes, or smarmy snot gobbling congressmen who don the hetero lifestyle like a surplice while cynically dragging their bags through airport tearooms. Your argument from promiscuity is as good an argument for sodomizing sheep as it is for becoming a homosexual.

What I'm talking about is the people Xenon addresses as "choosing" the "homosexual life-style" and pushing for the "homosexual agenda." People who are, and who think of themselves as, homosexuals, who love people of their own gender. . I've no doubt that many people who find themselves in this situation also find some considerable enjoyment in believing, whether or not it's true, that they enjoy more and better sex than their straight friends, but this lagniappe is not the reason they are homosexuals, and nobody who really gives it thought past the polymorphous wanking adolescent stage would believe it is.

You choose your sexual behavior, which is what defines whether you are normal or a homosexual, but you don't choose your eye or hair color, those things you are born with. You aren't born having sex. A homosexual male isn't born with a penis in his mouth or anus and a "lesbian" isn't born with a strap-on already attached. It amazes me liberals can't differentiate between freely chosen sexual behavior and traits you are born with such as eye and hair color. Eye and hair color are genetic, homosexuality isn't. Homosexuality is a choice.

Women appeal to me. I didn't choose that. It just happens to be the way things are. I am heterosexual because (most likely) I am hardwired to be that way. I can't remember the great moment that you appear to have had, where one looks at both sexes, feels no particular attraction to either one (or perhaps feels attraction to both, which works out just as well logically) and chooses to pick one over the other. Interesting you choose to 'quote' your interpretation. Are there more interpretations, do you think? If so, how many could there be, do you think? At what point does 'interpretation' of the bible cease - at the point that it means whatever the reader wishes it to mean, or before?

Where does the word 'impossible' fit into your interpretatation?

Matthew 17:20, Jesus says, "For truly, I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you."

It seems you have interpreted it as meaning 'lots of things' and/or 'big changes'. That seems conveniently 'loose'.

But it also says 'All things are possible to he who believes'. Not 'All things that aren't impossible are possible to he who believe'.

The thing with the scriptures is that they are only possible to read if one is selective. It can't all be true, and since there's little indication of which bits are rubbish, there's no way to give credence to any of it.
