I believe it was the summer of 1975, my friend (hockey teammate) had an uncle who owned a cabin on the hill above Samish Lake, whe the UW practiced rowing. Our families were visiting, and one morning we decided to go hiking real early. We found a stream and a waterfall, crossing near the top of it. After a while we headed for the dirt road that went up the hill. After we found it, we decided to follow it to the top and see the view. At the top of the hill, we found a new cabin being built, with a bulldozer parked next to it. We stood there looking at this spectacle in the middle of the forest when we witnessed All off the wildlife fleeing past us, crossing the road back into the forest. Next we heard an extremely loud howl/yell that seemed directed at us, but from down the valley by the freeway, I-5, or maybe further. Then a short time later, we heard something tearing through the forest, the sounds of trees snapping getting louder and closer extremely fast. We blazed it down the road, crashing through a huge dead stump, somewhat hurting ourselves. We ran far and fast, getting split where the road turned left. I ran through the forest at full speed, coming to a cliff, which I jumped. It turned out to be his uncle's driveway, with everybody outside, hearing our yells. My friend came around the corner shortly, having continued on the road. The next day we all went up the road to look, we found a huge footprint at the edge of the road where the runoff is. There was an obvious path that he tore through, but footprints were not obvious. No one else really wanted to look that deeply into the forest. It was no bear or cougar. The footprint looked like a giant man foot, but with no real definition.
