Bigfoot: The Invisible Variety

I already called the Carter Library.

This looks like hist is trying to say "Don't call and ask because I already have and this is what they said, okay! And if you do whatevere they say is a lie and you are lying too, okay!"

No, I called the Carter Library some time ago. But you can go ahead if you want. Notice that I did not incorrectly describe it as the Carter Center. Obviously, now that the facts of Bigfoot invisibility are out, all the people who cannot deal with it are coming out of the woodwork. If you can't deal with it, admit it and move on.

A classic quote from historian (circa 2005, then known as "bigfootmagnet"):

"Plus, both former President Jimmy Carter and renowned scientist Steven Hawking, have made public statements that Bigfoot is paranormal. Steven Hawking, in his youth at U.C. Berkeley, rolled his wheelchair up and down the sidewalks giving impromptu lectures on Bigfoot the inter-dimensional / invisible paranormal from another dimension and possibly from another galaxy. So if the top scientist in our planetary system says that Bigfoot is inter-dimensional, that's good enough for me. "

The thing is, Stephen Hawking wasn't in a wheelchair in his youth and didn't go to U.C. Berkely...

Nice try. Stephen Hawking was in a wheelchair in 1975. That would be 32 years ago. Now follow me on this. Take 32 years off of his current age, and that in relative terms, IS HIS YOUTH!

As you may have noticed (if you look at my profile information), I live in Maryland which has had several Bigfoot sightings over the years. In my case, I have several acres of woods, which backs up to a reserve of several 1000 acres (all woods).

I just went outside and yelled all kinds of anti-Bigfoot stuff (insults, taunts, "yo mama" jokes, etc), and will do so again every hour until midnight.

Should the Bigfoot appear, and are so enraged they do more then just destroy the woods but actually come into my home, I wanted a public record of what I've done.

This may very well be my last post, if it is I wish you well. I will report back in the morning, if I am able, as to any damage.

Just to increase the chances of your early demise, why don't you throw a sleeping bag out on the back lawn. Put it as close to the woods as you dare. And dream about hurting the Bigfoot.

You seem to have missed a point. Whether the Carter Library knows anything or not is an irrelevant response to Spektator's post, since he stated clearly that he called the Carter Center, where he knows some people. If you called the Carter Library as you say you did, then clearly you cannot use that lack of information to cast doubt on statements made by the Carter Center, and certainly not to accuse Spektator of making it all up. You, who so freely use the term "libel" should, if you believe what you write, take extra care.

What's your age Bruto? 20? maybe

Carter Library and Carter Center have two completely different purposes. Carter Center would be the wrong place to contact. Carter Library keeps the Carter record of his years in office.

Historian - you just got finished saying it was after he left office! why would the place that maintains records from his time in office have data on something that happened afterwards?

You have already found out that the Carter Library would quite obviously not then be the place to ask about Mr. Carter's post presidential record, and you have completely and utterly missed my point, which is that your lack of information from the Library is entirely irrelevant to the veracity of the answer Spektator says he got from the Center. This would be true even if Spektator called the wrong place (if, for example, it were not fairly obvious that the Carter Center would be a good place to call if you want, on an informal basis, to find out something about Mr. Carter's history from people connected with him whom you already know), and it would be true even if Spektator were lying about the whole thing.

historian, methinks you're confusing fact with fiction.

Reality with fantasy.

Since you've not provided any evidence to support your claims of invisible bigfoot, I counterclaim that what you're describing is the dreaded mudwumple* and not a bigfoot at all.

RayG

* mudwumple = an undiscovered, unclassified, legendary creature that supposedly looks a lot like a very large alligator/crocodile, but with very long legs (so much so that they can run bipedally at very high speed for short distances), oddly shaped feet, and they are reportedly much bigger, smarter, stronger and faster than a regular alligator or crocodile. Mudwumples are sometimes described as large, scaly bipedal reptilians, and many believe that this animal, or its close relatives, may be found around the world under different regional names, such as the Google of Tibet and Nepal, the Yahoo of mainland China, and the Yipee of Australia.

Mudwumple supporters fall into two main camps -- those that believe it's a flesh and blood creature, and those who believe it's paranormal (communicate telepathically, pilot UFOs, have mastered the art of invisibility, and control alternate dimensions.) Science seems to take neither side seriously.

Mudwumples are mentioned in many Native legends which tell tales of them carrying off young children, killing, and eating them. No bones, or bodyparts of the mudwumple have ever been found, but mudwumple supporters point to a film shot by an intrepid mudwumple enthusiast 40 years ago as evidence of the creature. Though much controversy exists today over this unique film, no one has ever proven it to be real or hoaxed. Some individuals have come forward claiming to be the wearer of the mudwumple suit shown in the film, but no suit or costume has ever been produced. Detailed analysis of the film seems to show a creature with inhuman characteristics and features. (its legs are too long, arms too short, shoulders too narrow, and head to large for it to have been a person in a suit. It walks with a rather peculiar bow-legged/knock-kneed gait as well.)

Tracks and other mudwumple evidence have been found, and some point to DNA tests on scales and toenails recovered near mudwumple sightings that have come back as 'unidentified reptile' as evidence of mudwumples. Many books have been written about mudwumples, though precious few articles appear in scientific journals, and only a few open-minded scientists think the evidence is compelling enough to warrant further investigation.

Many mudwumple organizations, websites, and message forums have sprung up across the world, but there is sometimes much disagreement between them. One well known organization, calling itself "The scientific research organization exploring the mudwumple mystery", conducts expeditions to raise money for further mudwumple research.

Some scoftics/skeptics claim that mudwumple evidence has been hoaxed, but they have not been able to reproduce any realistic copies of tracks or suits, so their arguments can be ignored.

Let's see, Hawkings' current age (65) minus 32 is 33. 33 is older than the age of the average (young) college student.

Webster's New World Dictionary defines youth as "The time of life when one is young; especially: a: the period between childhood and maturity b: the early period of existence, growth, or development." 33 doesn't fit that definition. And if Wikipedia is correct, the United Nations General Assembly defines "youth" as "...falling between the ages of 15 and 24 years inclusive."

In other words, Hawking wasn't in his youth at that time. And, again, Stephen Hawkings never studied at U.C. Berkeley.

Also, I feel an odd need to link to this...

LIAR, LIAR, PANTS ON FIRE!

Gee, I guess when I was at U.C. Berkeley in 1975, and walked past Stephen Hawking on the sidewalks many times, and heard stories from others about their conversations with Associate Professor Stephen Hawking, and heard all about Bigfoot from world renown professors's at U.C. Berkeley, and heard about the Lawrence Livermore National Lab captivity study, and heard about U.C. Berkeley reassigning the previous 4th dimension of TIME to use it instead to explain BIGFOOT INVISIBILITY, then I must have imagined it all. As I imagined my college GPA of 3.75.

GET LOST!

Historian - you just got finished saying it was after he left office! why would the place that maintains records from his time in office have data on something that happened afterwards?

Sorry, not answering any more stupid questions.

I don't understand the coincidence....as everyone eventually dies, and cancer is the 2nd leading cause of death in the US.

So it is a coincidence that she died, from the 2nd leading cause, 4 years after her book was published?

Now just hold a moment there, Locknar.

There's a parallel elsewhere for this......

Howard Carter (no relation AFAIK :)) the famous Egyptologist discovered the tomb of Tutenkhamen in 1922. I'm sure we all recall that there was a curse on anybody opening this tomb?

Well - sure as eggs is eggs, Carter died...... 17 years later in 1939....

Yes, you did imagine it. Stephen Hawking studied at Oxford as a student and has been at Cambridge University since he graduated. He may have been invited as a guest lecturer to U.C. Berkely, but he certainly never spent time sitting around on the sidewalk ranting at people. The only reasonable response to your post is in fact "I know you are, but what am I".

In all fairness, you did get one thing right. Hawking was in a wheelchair at least as far back as 1974, and possibly before that.

Someone hold me, I'm scared!

Gee, I guess <run-on sentance SNIP> then I must have imagined it all. As I imagined my college GPA of 3.75.

I think everyone in this thread can agree with you there; I'm glad that is now solved.

ETA - Stephen Hawkin was never an Associate Professor at Berkely, though has frequently been a guest lecturer there.

Well, as you can probably tell from my two previous posts I have survived the night; though just barely.

Between 9pm – 12am, I went outside once an hour and yelled various Bigfoot taunts, insults, etc. “yo mama” jokes, and talking about the “How to Cook a Bigfoot” cookbook were popular.

I went to bed after the midnight “taunt”, and that is where this tale or horror begins. I laid awake in bed, unable to sleep, scared about what might happen…that lasted about a minute befor falling fast asleep, trying to dream of hurting (dare I say cooking) Bigfoot as was suggested.

I awoke to a horrible noise….could this be it? Could Bigfoot be attacking? Naw…just my alarm clock.

A quick look outside, worried the woods might have been destroyed…nope, trees and all still right where I left them last night.

I checked with Harvey and he confirmed, no signs of any Bigfoot activity last night.
