I was critisicing my typographical error. An attempt at being self effacing.

That said, I don't go in for wink wink nudge nudge dialog. Nor do I take kindly to the notion that if I don't agree with something then I'm not living up to my intelectual potential. Finally, where is over there?

Your rhetoric might get you laid if you utter it in a coffee house but I'd prefer not to pretend that the emperor is wearing clothes.

I know this is very hard for you to understand edge, red is a color, it is easy for those that are not Red and Green color blind to see, if your mind needs it, I will use blue.

In order to be immortal, a soul must exist indefinitely. For example, let us estimate the average Human life span as being 100 years. Just since Christ it has been about 2,000 years, which is 20 full life times. Before that civilized history stretches out about 8,000 years for a total of about 10,000 years in the past. That is about 100 full life times.

If we look at the history of life before Human civilization, it stretches back about 4 billion years, which is 40 million full life times.

There is probably about another 5 billion years before the sun will begin making life on earth impossible, which is 50 million full life times from now. Even then, the Human race, if it is still around, would be capable of moving out of harms way.

But, even 90 million full lifetimes is short compared to all eternity. The point here is to give some small idea of how long an immortal soul would be around.

Does ones immortal soul begin at our mortal birth or does it exist an eternity before our mortal birth?

After our mortal death, what does the immortal soul do for all the rest of eternity?

One can believe in an afterlife without beliving in a soul.

That would be believing that there is some type of conscious experience after the death of the physical body -> disembodied consciousness.

A soul is not a neccessary concept for this, it is a very fuzzy and ill-defined concept.

Does this really tell us what a soul is? Why is it that we can change human attributes such as consciousness, thought, feeling and will by altering the brain which is not distinct from the physical body?

Of course not, but when one has magical thinking, anything that doesn't need proof, a soul, so-called god etc can be anything you what it to be. A soul answers no questions, it solves absolutely nothing, and it is not needed, unless you’re lazy and don’t want to learn anything. We do now know about the brain and much about how it works, when the soul thing was invented we didn't so we had to come up with something. Also the same magical thinking was used with lightning, earthquakes, hurricanes etc, there is no need of anything spiritual to explain this things now, unless again you don’t what and/or to lazy to read how these things work. Many people are just to dam lazy.

Not sure don't remember.

After our mortal death, what does the immortal soul do for all the rest of eternity? Anything you want if you make it that far.
If you do you'll also know what not to do. By knowing what not to do you'll see.

If we don't remember our begining why should we be under the illusion that we will remember anything after our death?

The self is only memory. Absent memory there is no self.
