So I guess in a small victory for Donald Trump Rosie will not be returning to the Veiw. Donald had said that he was promised by Walters that Rosie would not last long due to her bigoted remarks and outrageous behavior. I guess even the View as a limit on extreme left wing views and antics.

According to Barbara Walters, creator and co-executive producer of "The View," the co-host will be missed.

"We have had, to say the least, an interesting year … an exciting, fun-filled, provocative year. We have all gotten together and you will be missed," Walters said, adding, "I do not participate in the negotiations for Rosie. It was between your representatives and agents. This is not my doing."
Emphasis mine. Note the passive voice. Not "I will miss you," or "We will miss you." "You will be missed." Who will miss her, Barbara?

Politicians' Rule 1: When you don't want to be associated with something, use the passive voice.

Funny, my response to that was "You will be missed, which is difficult considering what a huge target you have made of yourself."

It's a joke targeting her weight and the public spectacle she's made of herself, both.

That way, you won't feel bad about laughing at the fat joke.
I never feel bad about laughing at a joke. Funny is hard to find (this is why Shemp is a national treasure.)

I chuckled at your barb when I read it.

I assume you are upset about this?
My thread has been mocking the fact that the other thread was moved. I'll be serious for a moment.

Upset? Hmmmm..... No, not viscerally so. Should I be (Mr. paragon of free speech that I am)?

If her actions had prompted a boycott of the View I would have been against that. If political leaders had banded together and put pressure on the network and corporate sponsors and had called for her ouster I would have been against that.

Perhaps that happened and I'm blithely ignorant. I'm open to being moved to outrage at this event. Make an argument and convince me. I mean that sincerely.

Thanks Upchurch,

We've been on opposing sides of late but there are few posters I regard more highly than you.

I have never watched that show. What are her "extreme left wing views and antics"?

It is RandFan's attempt to paint the political left with her personal loonyness.

It would be like mentioning how the extreme right are all hipocrites by pointing out Rush's drug abuse and Haggards homosexual behavior and drug abuse.

I never watch The View, for approximately the same reasons I never listened to Imus. Can someone fill me in on the extreme left-wing views Rosie O'Donnell articulated? I'm assuming that this will include notoriously left-wing statements like, "ching chong, ching-chong."

But your choice to frame this in terms of a victory for Donald Trump (instead of, say, for America, or all humankind) informs us about your hidden motivations here. This isn't about freedom of expression or left-wing extremism--it's about protecting the class interests of creepy old rich white guys with outsized egos and flamboyantly bad hair.

Hmm with her how do you comment on how much an @ss she made of her self with out it being interpreted as a weight joke?

Mabey calling her an huge dick, but then you would get accused of bashing lesbians I guess.

I'm mocking the move of the other thread. It's called satire. But read into it what you want. God knows I live for protecting the Donald.

:D

This thread actually turned out much better than I had hoped.

I just hope it doesn't get moved.

Yes, it's my purpose to paint the political left. That's why I'm supporting Obama.

Oh, that's too bad, because my post wasn't satire. I actually think you're on the payroll of Creepy Bad Hair International.
