Peanut Butter, The Atheist's Nightmare!

Behold, I have here a jar of peanut butter. Now, if Creationists are right, god created life out of. . .stuff of some sort. Genesis is vague and self-contradictory. Whatever, peanut butter.

Now, supposedly, god could make life out of peanut butter. Finding no life in this jar proves that this demonstration is wrong-headed and totally irrelevant to the discussion no matter which side of the debate one is on.

The entire food industry depends on the fact that evolution doesn't happen.

WTF?!

"Nabisco, the makers of Fig Newtons, has announced a recall of their Strawberry Fig Newtons. Due to inadequate evolutionary testing in the laboratory, this product is evolving into Oberto brand Beef Jerky."

Genesis doesn't say anything about peanut butter. But it does say that God made life appear out of water.

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

So you should try the experiment with a glass of water. Let it sit for a few minutes and see if you see any great whales swimming in it and birds flying out of it.

This video reminds me of when Da Ali G show had Kent Hovind on. When he started rambling on against evolution, Sacha Baron Cohen asked him "Do you eat bananas?", infering it was significant proof he came from a monkey. It was funny turnabout. (And so was the next several minutes claiming Ken left a floater in the backstage potty)

ETA: Here is the segment, the part mentioned above is at 2:18

Not quite. God engages in ambiogenesis three or perhaps four times, if the origin of fowl is as ambiguous as it reads.

1:20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

...

1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

...

1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

I didn't mean to say that God made life only out of water. Just that water is mentioned and peanut butter isn't. I suppose he COULD have made life from peanut butter, since he's all-powerful, but it would seem more sensible to make peanuts first.

So from this video, they expect me to believe that the salmonella that was recently found in peanut butter was, in fact, not caused by energy? What am I supposed to believe, that someone put it in there or there was some sort of accident? Pshaw.

Done.

Where do I put the whale?

I ate the chicken.

The Betty Crocker cake mix at the store said that if you take the mix, add in 2 eggs, some oil and milk and expose it to head for a period of time, you'll get a cake.

Well not having any cake mix at home, I put some fajita seasoning mix in a pan with some eggs, milk and oil and baked it for a few minutes... it was nothing like a cake at all. Proof that Betty Crocker is a crock alright!

So much for my keyboard. :D

I didn't see the word "digital" in the cited reference. An analog computer is certainly within the realm of possibility. Also, the definition of computer being used in the article is probably a very loose one. A simple array of knife switches, a battery, wire, and a lamp that "computes" the safe or unsafe states for the farmer crossing the river with a chicken, fox, and corn (one at a time) could be called a computer.

Sorry... it says that in his "official" biography.

Chuck must be some kind of freakin' genius.

Oh My Dog! :jaw-dropp I just got home so that I could actually watch this video. Seriously? There can't really be anyone that stupid can there be? How do they manage to survive nevertheless procreate? It truly boggles the mind.

Yep.

On the other hand, such stupidity and wilful ignorance pretty much blows the theory of evolution out of the water.

Goddidit.

QED

Actually, maybe it does lead to a good argument against evolution.

After all, according to evolutionary theory, people that stupid shouldn't live long enough to procreate.

Yet here they are among us.

Every lump of clay that doesn't get converted into Adam and Eve debunks creation. There. Done. Creation is debunked.

Our entire pottery industry depends on this. The experiments have been ongoing for... (carry the one..) thousands of years. Nothing but amphori, jugs, and urns - no Adams.

You can create a digital computer out of vacuum tubes. Such a project is well within the capacities of a 1950's garage. It might be limited to addition and subtraction of the numbers 0, 1, 2 and 3, but it would still be a digital computer.

By the way, my peanut butter is full of invisible demons today.

I agree, Christine, especially the crunchy peanut butter. I know, because when I exorcise the demons, they scratch on the way out. Then I flush.

What a video. The logic is perfect. Let's apply it to other fields:

1) Geology: Those geologists say that it takes millions of years for a mountain range to form. We've had literally billions of 'experiments' in the past 100 years, and no new mountain range has formed anywhere on earth. Geology must be a load of something or other.

2) Linguistics: Those bloody linguists say that over a great deal of time, languages change and split and whatnot, spontaneously. If you pick up a book from 1930, it's perfectly readable. This must be a load of crap.

3) Physics: Ignorant physicists say that if you wait long enough, there's a chance that an object can tunnel through a wall and spontaneously appear on the other side. I haven't seen this so far, so quantum mechanics must be junk science.

4) Creationism: Every day that I don't see a burning bush yelling at me, "I AM YOUR FATHER'S GOD" constitutes an experiment. We can conclude that there isn't any god.

It's always nice to see someone argue (pretty much) that anything you can't see right now isn't real.
