Oh yeah. But wasn't she so poorly paid that she had to branch out, forced ultimately to work with Scooby Doo? How demeaning!
No, no, no. She didn't work with Scooby Doo...her little group of followers were called the Scoobies. She was forced to work at the Doublemeat Palace and battled a nasty penis monster there, but still, that chick was always wearing very stylish designer clothes, so vampire slaying must pay reasonably well.

If the job involves penis monsters (are we back to Sean M. here?) I'm now not so sure I want it...
Amazing. I've been gone and not checked the internet for two days. I'm not in the house two minutes before I find odd things in my inbox.![]()
Manchester says he is PROFESSIONAL vampire hunter and the rest of us are DYSFUNCTIONAL MISCREANTS (WOW!) AND only AMATeurs!!!
What we asked him--but needless to say got no reply--is
WHERE DO YOU TRAIN TO become A PROFESSIONAL
VAMPIRE HUNTER AND HOW MUCH TO DO GET PAID? After all if youa re PROFESSIONAL that means you do it for a living and get paid, so how do you actually WORK as a vampire hunter----
are you on 24 hour call or do you work shifts?
are you paid on results i'.e. how do you prove you've bagged one?
Who is your employer???
Needless to say Manchester was as coy about his vampire hunting CV as he is about his Church in Bournemouth of which he is the Autocephalous(one headed/self employed) Bishop
Barbara and Catherine
not if he is an "exempted body", as they (by definition) don't need to register, however they still fall under the remit of the charity Commission. However as his organization does not appear on the HMCE list of registered and exempted bodies, he cant get these donations tax free (legally).Hi folks
Just read your recent postings about Charities etc. From what I remember in the front of Mr. Manchester's Highgate Vampire book it is quite clear that Mr. Manchester is asking for donations to be paid in a Halifax Bank Account here in the UK. He says that the funds are going to be donated to the Church allegedly. If this is so then surely before he can ask for such funds he needs to be a registered charity.
oddly enough, collecting fro an individual is not considered charitable work (charities must be for the "common good" so he's probably safe here)Also Mr. Manchester set up a fake Memorial Fund when he was fatally wounded in a duel and all of a sudden miraculously nursed back to health by a nun in France.
this does sound distinctly dodgy, have you spoken to the charities commission about him? just because he isn't registered with them doesn't mean that they don't have jurisdiction.Another fund he set up to try and save Robin Hood's Grave here in West Yorkshire and accused Barbara of pocketing the proceeds which were addressed to HIM in the first place to PO Box 542 Highgate, London.
yeah, Uk charities law is a bit of a minefield.Generally we are thinking that the Old Catholic Movement and Manchester himself are setting up a scam. It is so confusing as to what is what and it really needs someone to research the subject fully.
report him to the Environmental health department of Bournemouth Borough Council, who will be the enforcing authority for the fire and health nd safety breaches you suspect him of. Tourist information and trades descriptions wont be much help (as you have found). On another note Mr. Manchester has a retreat house in Bournemouth. We believe that he has not got the proper fire, health and safety regulations. Nor do the Bournemouth Tourist Information know about him much less want to get involved with him. We've also tried the trades description people and they have said that they cannot help and the retreat Society in the United Kingdom have never even heard of him.
Vampire406 has no hidden agenda in joining our David Farrant Highgate Forum why should she have? However we will support her as much as we possibly can as we are well aware of what Manchester is like and she can also post as much as she wants on our forums.
Having had a quick look at the forum in question, it seems to be dominated by two themes: obsessing over minutia from almost forty years ago which is familiar at most to one, two or three people, and posting totally unsubstantiated claims about the paranormal, ghosts and such like which all members seem to subscribe to with a gullibility rarely seen outside an alien abduction convention. My point being: how can vampire hunting be any more potty than ghost hunting and practising magic rituals in the belief that they actually work?

Thanks for the message. We will write to the Environmental Health department later this week as we've got a lot to do elsewhere and will let Board Member know what happens. We will also write to the Charity Commision about Manchester's past exploits and see what they can do.
Kind regards and best wishes
Catherine and Barbara
It's not any different.
