This is the thread that may very well change the way you look at 9/11 FOREVER!

When a log burns...what is the fuel used?
the log, genius

thats why after a certain amount of time its not there anymore and has been magicly replaced by a pile of ash

but this whole dictionary thing started with you implying lava was burning, which is isnt

paper, jet fuel, office furniture etc are hot enough to melt Al

The oxygen generators on board the aircraft could spice up the fire some.

NIST said - this flowing material had no visual signs that it was burning. Then they proceed to say this material does have an orange glow like that of logs burning in a fireplace. They didn't say - this material has an orange glow like that of a log. They said the orange glow is from the burning of the logs.

So, it would read like this:

The flowing material had no visual signs that it was burning, but it did have a visual sign (orange glow) like something that is burning.
So, your point is what? That NIST is both saying that it's not burning and also saying that it is burning?

Dude, why would they do that? Is there any logic to this madness? What does it matter whether the aluminum, or aluminum alloy, is burning or not?

Clearly, the jet is made of aluminum alloy, not aluminum, so the fact that pure aluminum that is burning or melting or whatever is silvery white is irrelevant. Clearly, some metal, probably aluminum alloy from the plane, is either melted and dripping, or burning. (Tell me again, why it really matters which? Frankly, I don't know whether aluminum burns and I don't care. Clearly, it melts, and molten metal is what we see. End of story.)

So what is your point?

This line of "reasoning" is just another example of your intellectual boondogglery (not sure that a word, oh well). You don't seem to want to look at things and say, what do the best minds (who actually know something about this subject) think about this? What do I know from my experiences, school, reading etc. and how does that relate to what I'm hearing from the experts? Does everything jive with everything?

No, you come at it with a preconceived idea (your PET theory, that some external explosives or chemicals were present) and try to nitpick little inconsistencies, down to the definition of the word "like", to try to make the "facts" fit your theory.

This isn't how people who've accomplished something in science, or any field really - business, art, architecture, whatever - think. Instead, they come to a new situation with an open mind, with respect for the experts in the field (by the way, most govt scientists are experts in their fields first, and government employees second, and to violate the ethics of their profession would be unconscionable to them), and with a healthy ability to see all angles on an issue. They don't take one sentence from a govt website and analyze it to death, seemingly finding contradictions in things that don't matter anyway.

This is making my head hurt. I'm outta here for now. Catch up with you all later.

You need to have a clear understanding of what Doublethink is before you can understand why it's such a big deal. That wasn't a mere slip of the tongue...it was a clear sign of psychosis.
so in addition to a photo analyst, metalurgist, civil/structural engineer, demolitions expert, and chemist your also a psychiatrist?

This is making my head hurt.

"The power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them. ... To tell deliberate lies while genuinely believing in them, to forget any fact that has become inconvenient, and then, when it becomes necessary again, to draw it back from oblivion for just so long as it is needed, to deny the existence of objective reality and all the while to take account of the reality which one denies—all this is indispensably necessary. Even in using the word doublethink it is necessary to exercise doublethink. For by using the word one admits that one is tampering with reality; by a fresh act of doublethink one erases this knowledge; and so on indefinitely, with the lie always one leap ahead of the truth."

"His mind slid away into the labyrinthine world of doublethink. To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully-constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them; to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it, to believe that democracy was impossible and that the Party was the guardian of democracy; to forget whatever it was necessary to forget, then to draw it back at the moment when it was needed, and then promptly to forget it again: and above all, to apply the same process to the process itself. That was the ultimate subtlety: consciously to induce unconsciousness, and then, once again, to become unconscious of the art of hypnosis you had just performed. Even to understand the world [sic] 'doublethink' involved using doublethink."

Read those and tell me your head doesn't ache. That's the power of this warped mentality.

And also a pretty good summary of the Tr00th movement.

Woowoo timeline

Monday - prove the wtc was a CD and al-Qaeda is part of the government conspiracy.
Tuesday - Prove al-Qaeda was not responsible and were all a bunch of ignorant cave dwellers.
Wednesday - Denounce Steven Jones although he was our only light showing us that the wtc was a CD.
Thursday - Switch gears and claim the government had plenty of warning that al-Qaeda (who I previously denyed existing and then said they were ignorant) would attack US landmarks.
Friday - Wake up, realize I have been a fool and apologize to all the victims families.
