Prosecutors move to dismiss felony vandalism case against Olympian David Hearn over Reflecting Pool​

Federal prosecutors moved Friday to dismiss a felony vandalism case against former U.S. Olympian David Hearn, after he was accused of vandalizing the Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C., as seen in a court filing obtained by Fox News Digital.

Hearn was indicted July 2 on one count of felony destruction of property. U.S. Park Police alleged Hearn grabbed and tugged at a loose section of the pool’s coating on June 19, continuing after a National Park Service employee told him to stop. Officials initially claimed he caused more than $1,000 in damage.

However, U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro’s office said the Department of the Interior initially provided prosecutors with "barebones" reports and failed to disclose records documenting extensive problems with the coating’s installation.

I imagine Pirro passed out on her bed, paperwork scatttered everywhere. She wakes at noon, trying to remember what ridiculous thing she did the day before, and remembers something the stinky president said about vandal antifa thugs with box cutters . . . and that's about it. She thinks "Uh-oh."

Their rationalisation seems to be typical of the Pentagon’s approach,

“The dead are no longer employees, therefore their deaths can’t be recorded as an employee fatality”.

No, I'm sure he tells deliberate falsehood in order to deceive all the time if he feels it will further his grifts and deflects away from his transgressions. As far as he's concerned, its not a lie if it benefits him.

Most of the 20-page motion consists of the US Attorney's Office for DC (USAO-DC) blaming the Department of the Interior (DOI) and the US Park Police (USPP) for misleading USAO-DC about what happened.

However, it was not until after the return of the indictment, that the DOI provided additional documents to the USAO-DC indicating that damage to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in June 2026 was the result of flawed installation by the contractor, Atlantic Industrial Coatings (“AIC”), and the rush to complete the project prior to events associated with the America 250 celebration in the weeks surrounding Independence Day 2026. It was not until after these documents were produced that USAO-DC first became aware of information showing that the damage was the result of a botched installation and not vandalism as initially represented by DOI. Indeed, USAO-DC could only rely on the information provided by DOI that the damage was entirely caused by vandals, including the defendant in this case, David Hearn.

I just rewatched Pirro's press conference from when he was indicted...how embarrassing. I predict she will lose her job very shortly, trump does not like being embarrassed and since she is a woman in his eyes she is completely disposable.
