I'm amused by the idea of archaeologists investigating a cave previously flooded for many centuries and finding "footprints" leading farther back. It has that CSI TV show vibe of a crime scene which is perfectly clean except for the vital clue fingerprint or blood spot. The only thing that ever happened in this cave is four individuals stood still for a long time and then walked deeper into the cave. That's just science. Indisputable.

I await the publishing of the archaeologists' paper with bated breath.

The report did not say that it was flooded. It was sealed.
They found it when the waters receded.
