Does 'rape culture' accurately describe (many) societies?

Christ refers back to Genesis, so his followers can't exactly easily say no to those scriptures. Paul - the founder of Christianity? Really? Paul 's claim is that he was following Christ as per his Damascus experience. In any case, Paul was talking about ministers was he not? - and even then, it wasn't a proscription.

No, the Bible claims God created sex and told humans to go and have it. Lots of it.
You said "christianis" Paul is very explicit that the ideal is not to marry. See 1 Corinthians 7.

Christians do not follow the law as Jesus said we had to, Paul said Christians do not have to follow the law. It's a straight-up contradiction and since Christians ended up not following the law then it is clear that Paul is the founder of Christianity not Jesus.

(Of course we have to consider did even Paul exist...)

Abortion should be pushed much more strongly than we currently do as a form of birth control for early stage pregnancies. Unprepared parenthood is responsible for a lot of problems that a quick early stage abortion would fix. I know my views on this are considered "extreme" in my society - I blame it on coming from a traditional matriarchal working class family.
You would perform an abortion would you? Do you not think sexual restraint is a good thing in consideration of what the consequences might be in this respect? Is porn teaching anyone to do so? Or does it promote the opposite?

Yes, your views are extreme. There are, as mentioned before, about 280,000 terminationsin the UK per year. That's a lot of humans. BTW, have you ever complained about immigration? Do you imagine that lots of UK citizens do complain whilst entertaining views such as yours?

Hmmm... that is indeed an interesting chapter. Paul does state that the time is short. Of course, Christians will contrast this with Paul's words in 2 Thes. 2 affirming the day of the lord has not come etc.

I think the claim is, is that Christians follow the law by following Jesus - that no one can fulfil the law. I certainly would agree that it is, at the very least, confusing and could be considered a contradiction.

Would have no issue with performing early stage abortions, they are for those that are interested a common natural occurrence.

Can't parse what you are asking me.

Untrue - Zechariah and Elizabeth see Luke 1:5-6

Interesting. - though we both know this is in contrast / contradiction (possibly) to 'for all have sinned and fallen short'.

You won't see me disagreeing with the view that the Bible is grounds for scepticism. You already know that.

This case, and specifically it's background, suggests there is a 'rape culture' within elements of the UK

Do you normally resurrect month-old statements as part of your argument? I've already dealt with that. Keep up with the conversation, will you?
I've planted my mulberry bush - and yes I really do have one - too close to the fence and it's grown so well you can't get around it any longer.

First, you have to demonstrate that this is true. You haven't.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 18.2 million children, 1 in 4, live without a biological, step, or adoptive father in the home.
Second, you have to demonstrate that this is a consequence of porn. You haven't.
Straw man - I have suggested that porn won't help.
Third, you have to demonstrate that this is bad for society. You haven't.
The ideal will be children living with their parents. Of course that does not mean an abusive father is to be tolerated.

Watching sports down at the pub won't help either, but you're not suggesting we should ban that.

This thread is not about 'things that may or may not exacerbate the fatherlessness epidemic' is it.

I hold a nihilist perspective. Not that it matters. The key words in the definition of nihilism is intrinsic and objective meaning.
There is no purpose beyond what any of us subjectively attribute to it. I value life very much. But that is totally subjective.
Nonsense. It is tremendously liberating. Once one understands that the universe doesn't care about us individually and that actual meaning comes from within, we are able to stop searching outside of ourselves for it.
We can then decide for ourselves what has meaning and what doesn't. We don't require others to assign the meaning of life to us.
That gives the green light (philosophically speaking at least) for an adult and a child to subjectively define sex as without meaning thus justifying their decision to engage in it.

Again, you continue with non sequitors. None of those things necessarily objectively follow the other. Humans like many other primates are not naturally monogamous. Still, that doesn't matter. Many societies still promote monogamy.
Interesting comparison. Bonobos are primates who's only sexual taboo is that of mother and son.

Your post was in response to my:
Not following you within the context of what I have been asking. What about sex makes a relationship so? Nothing? If sex is nothing special, then humanity is objectively sexually free and no one should dare mention monogamy.
You are clearly doubling down on the belief that sex is defined subjectively. I suggest that such nihilistic views underpin the social crisis we are in.

Your claim was that 1 in "3 or 4" children were without their biological father in the home. You specifically said that word in your claim. Now you're posting evidence that it's without a biological, step, or adoptive father.

Straw man - I have suggested that porn won't help.
Won't help what?

Why is that the ideal? By what metric are you measuring "ideal"?

Suggest it all you like. If you can back it up with anything I might even pay attention.
Is there any sense in which an adult and a child who deem the sex they engage in as essentially meaningless (an act without any consequence beyond the pleasure they get from it) - is there any sense that they have acted immorally according to their pov?
