Indeed. There's more to say along those lines, but that is pretty succinct for the general matter. For this situation, though, even if their claims were true, there's more. Trump's desire to make war with Venezuela in some fashion isn't some new thing, whether it's to seize resources like oil or under the premise that a military "win" would bolster his horrendously bad poll numbers. There's no good reason to go along with the farce that drugs are anything more than an empty pretext here, especially given Trump's personal history of aiding and abetting the use of illegal drugs and supporting drug dealers.The problem with murdering drug smugglers is not that we feel sympathy for the drug smugglers, it's that you're a murderer.
Indeed. If they were generally honest, there would be cause to give them the benefit of the doubt. When they've been caught lying shamelessly over and over as they try to get away with criminal and lawless behavior, including with virtually identical claims, they've already squandered all benefit of the doubt. Trust requires hard work to build and is easy to destroy.If they're actual drug smugglers. Day after day, all this corrupt administration does is lie.
