I was in the UK a few weeks ago in a training session with about a dozen people, mostly from the UK and EU but 3 people from the US, 2 of whom I know are Trump supporters.

Over lunch the conversation turned to Trump and the whole room was laughing and him and the US. I glanced over at the americans and they were just sitting there shifting uncomfortably in their seats while the rest of the room openly mocked their president and country. I can't imagine how embarrassing it must be to be am american abroad, realizing that your homeland has become a laughing stock.

'That's false': Kash Patel stuns observers by correcting Trump on 'outlandish' FBI claim

FBI Director Kash Patel shocked observers over the weekend when he issued a correction to a false statement made by Donald Trump.

It all started when President Trump took to Truth Social on Saturday to make a claim about the FBI.

"It was just revealed that the FBI had secretly placed, against all Rules, Regulations, Protocols, and Standards, 274 FBI Agents into the Crowd just prior to, and during, the January 6th Hoax," Trump wrote. "This is different from what Director Christopher Wray stated, over and over again! That’s right, as it now turns out, FBI Agents were at, and in, the January 6th Protest, probably acting as Agitators and Insurrectionists, but certainly not as 'Law Enforcement Officials.' I want to know who each and every one of these so-called 'Agents' are, and what they were up to on that now 'Historic' Day."

That led to Patel placing a story with Fox News in which the FBI leader contradicts the part about agents and insurrectionists.

"FBI Director Kash Patel has issued a correction to a post earlier today on Truth Social from President Donald J. Trump, in which he claimed that FBI Agents were in the crowd prior to, and during the January 6th Capitol Riot in 2021, claiming that they acted as agitators and insurrections, and not as 'Law Enforcement Officials,' with the president calling for the agents to be exposed for their role on January 6," the account wrote. "Patel has now said in a statement to Fox News that President Trump is incorrect, stating that 274 FBI Agents were not in the crowd prior to the start of the riot, and only entered to carry out crowd control once the violence began and demonstrators attempted to force their way into the Capitol Building."

CNN political reporter Aaron Blake also noticed the correction this weekend, writing, "Trump earlier today spread false info about Jan. 6. He said new info shows 'the FBI had secretly placed … 274 FBI Agents into the Crowd just prior to, and during, the January 6th Hoax.' Now his own FBI director is making clear that’s not true."

I don;t know if Trump is going get his Boston Massacre/Kent State in Portland.
Things are not the way they are back in the days of Kent State.
Most Guard units have specific units for handling civildistrubances, which are trained to handle them using non lethal weaponry If fact in monay state the Guard's MP units are tasked with this. They are pretty much just reinformcents for the police.
Still, Trump is destroying Posse Commitatus, the American rule that employment of the militry for enforcing civil law is an absolute last resort.

I think he is saying that this is a last resort because local and state law enforcement are unable to round up people of colour and send them to be deported.
 
Trump is babbling quite a bit these days. But it will be a while till we can get some real dementia. It does seem he is typing the stuff on Truth Social, or at least reading it out loud to someone to type up. 9/27 babbling still seems to have grammar. Who sent him this Jan 6th stuff?

That's one of the dumbest things Trump has based a campaign on, The Democrats want to shut the government down unless the Republicans what: Insist all men and women trans into the opposite gender? I must be misreading something.

And as long as I'm here, how is the 25th Amendment supposed to work when all the inner administration persons consist of Presidential appointments? Maybe the Founders never imagined crazy the way Trump is crazy.

The whole forced transition lie has continued to get more and more exaggerated since the days when it was the lie that elementary schools would suddenly force kids to transition one day out of nowhere, without consulting the parents at all, and that was all the Democrats' doing.

The 25th has been in effect since... 1967? It's sorta odd to bring up the Founders in relation to it. IIRC, the Founders did conceive of something like Trump's crazy, but at that point, it is not really the structure of the government at fault so much as the failings of excessive numbers of people high and low. Unless I'm misunderstanding something notable, the 25th was more intended to be used for incapacitating health issues arising, such as while the President is getting cancer surgery and recovering from that, and as a way to finally be able to replace a Vice President after the death of a President and the Vice President taking over. Section 4 is notable, yes, and it's a possible way to get Trump out, but the focus of the amendment as a whole was about providing rules for moving forward in case of physical incapacity, not political insanity.

I'm reminded of that old adage about people who can make you believe absurdities. Like 'kids will be forced to change their sex at school', and 'the blacks burned down whole cities'. Things that do not square with reality as we know it and that it's impossible to believe in if you think critically for just a single second. Says a lot about how bigoted they are.
