yes, it's supposed to be a tiny concession so you don't have to do something truly significant. The idea is to be able to shift blame to the countries who haven't even made this small step.

But it is also the thin end of the wedge, a mechanism for activist to push for a lot more concessions from their governments. It also makes a lot easier to provide various forms of aid to Palestine.

On the flipside, it could mean a lot more power for the PA, which hardly any Palestinian would consider their legitimate representative.

My opinion is that there will now never be a Palestinian state (not that this should be a surprise to anyone who has taken notice - Palestinian authorities have rejected every attempt at a compromise which would have created a state) so what is recognition? Symbolic ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊. That is my opinion. You can disagree, you can also appeal to the false authority of a lot of basket case countries. That doesn’t make you necessarily right.

Good. The one state solution is more fair and just.
 
False Dichotomy.
Just because there is a recognized Palestine doesn't meant that there can be a unified Israel and Palestine - it would have been a Federal Model in any case.
 
I look forward to all the nations in green sending their ambassadors to East Jerusalem to engage in diplomacy with the democratically elected leaders of Free Palestine.

At this point you have most counties in the world, journalists, humanitarian aid organizations, all reporting the same thing about Israel committing war crimes and genocide. Yet some prefer to ignore all those different independent sources in favor of the offenders word despite them having been repeatedly caught lying.
 
Apparently the IDF is now adopting badges with images reminiscent of the SS and other Nazi groups. WTF is this about??
