Cont: Musk, SpaceX and future of Tesla II

The President is expressly exempt from the Hatch Act.

Elon Musk is subject to the Hatch Act only when he is working for the government, based on his titular status as a Special Government Employee. But since SGEs generally retain their nominal employment when not working for the government (i.e., it's a side gig), they are allowed and expected to be conscientious to their ordinary business duties at other times. So all Musk has to do is flip-flop between when he's working for the government and when he's the CEO of Tesla or SpaceX.

Normally an SGE does not have contracting authority, but Musk is no ordinary SGE. Most SGEs don't have the President of the United States announcing to Congress that they are heads of new and important government agencies with plenary authority to change contracts and business practices.

Musk seems like he's presenting all these efforts as if they are out of the goodness of his heart: his script-kiddies are fixing all the servers with new "algorithms" for free, on loan from SpaceX etc.; he generously rescued the astronauts left stranded on the ISS by the Biden administration. It's the King Donald and Saint Elon show. But no, he's getting paid for all this to the tune of several billions of dollars in new contracts since he was brought into government. All this is being downplayed in such brazenly self-defeating arguments as, "Why would a billionaire need more money?"

The point regarding Hunter Biden is that if you're going to try to make hay out of whatever business deals he might have made riding on his father's coattails, you should expect some blowback when you overtly let business leaders wield government power to funnel taxpayer money to their own businesses. We don't even need yarn and pushpins to tell that story—it's the very definition of corruption in government. Elon Musk is straight-up saying he's giving his own companies contracts to "clean up" and "fix" the parts of government he wants to unelectedly tinker with.

The point to me with Hunter Biden is that the likes of Trump can't comprehend someone wouldn't make unethical use of their connections. It's the reason we have the new dictum "every accusation is a confession".

So it seems Elon was telling the truth after all. Biden condemned the astronauts to all those months in space because of his hate for Elon.

"It would not have happened without President Trump's intervention."

@NASA explains how President Trump played an integral role in bringing stranded American astronauts Barry "Butch" Wilmore and Suni Williams back home from space

In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, @NASA spokeswoman Bethany Stevens credited President Donald Trump for securing the return of two astronauts stranded for more than nine months on the International Space Station.

"This is a huge win for the Trump administration."

Stevens highlighted Trump's "ambitious space agenda" following the rescue mission.

"President Trump was also once considered an outsider, and the American people have put him back into office, just showing how much they appreciate the business side that he brings to the table."

The Trump administration is hoping to soon confirm Jared Isaacman as NASA administrator as the agency, with the help of SpaceX boss @elonmusk, looks to "Mars and beyond."

"That's the next step towards being America First in Space," Stevens said.

Given that Stevens' previous job was a press operative for Ted Cruz, I can be safe in saying that she's lying.
Of course it’s a lie. The contingency plan to bring the Starliner crew home on the Dragon in Spring 2025 was announced back in September 2024, when NASA announced that Starliner would return uncrewed. The delay was to allow SpaceX to build a replacement Dragon.

It's not just that it's a lie. It's a crazy spin on the truth. If I understand her correctly, the claim is that without Trump's intervention they would still be up there on the ISS.

Elon on a Tesla attack.

"Legacy media propaganda is what convinced this guy to do it.
Same media that convinced assassins to target the President"
