If such a pardon was allowed, it would, practically, mean open borders (which I don't think is a bad thing). I believe we should have open borders, though. I'm not saying I'm against pardoning all undocumented immigrants, I just don't know how it could happen.
At any rate, doing anything that doesn't "reach across the aisle" isn't something Biden would do anyway. He won't pardon all the people Trump threatens. He won't pardon immigrants. He won't do anything to rock the boat because he's a Democrat and Democrats "play by the rules." They do not like to go against the normal means of operation, which is a big reason we keep losing.

Nope! I would hazard a guess in a similar fashion: define the set of people the pardon refers to, perhaps by immigration status and countries of origin and dates of arrival, and apply the pardon to them only. I don't think "all illegal migrants" would be a precise enough legal term.
 
But how do you know which immigrants arrived in that time period if they are undocumented?
 
The other problem there: is the crime entering the country illegally, or being in the country illegally? Because obviously a single-time event crime could be pardoned. But if the crime is being here, then a pardon will only work for the past offense of being here. Every instant after the pardon would be new offenses, even if every offense prior to the pardon were erased. In which case you'd have to have a pardon that works perpetually, cancelling out offenses as they occur. Can they do that?

Again, no idea. And as stated above, I don't think it is worth pursuing. Come the day after Trump's ascent to the throne, he will just "unpardon" any Biden pardons by executive fiat. And SCOTUS will say "That's official! All gud!"

Trumpy seems to think that presidential pardons work like a perpetually-renewing Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free card. Whenever he gets in a jamb, he will just pardon himself. Crisis over!

I long ago came to the conclusion Trump’s magic formula is, contrary to a typical conman’s working diligently to disguise the con, he comes right out and shouts, three inches from people’s faces: I’M CONNING YOU RIGHT NOW!!!

If anything about his “thinking” could be considered brilliant, that’s it.

That looks to me as if you are supporting Dems using "made-up fodder" which is why I said Dems should not become what Republicans have.

All I'm saying is that Dems should stop second-guessing themselves all the time when it comes to Trump or his Republicans - it would have been nice if Dems had actually acted as if they considered Trump 2.0 the threat to democracy that they claimed he was.
Trump 1?0 has proven that the normal guardrails were insufficient to hold him in check. But Dems were happy to assume that they would be enough to hold him to account.
In my mind there is no question that the Biden DOJ bent over backwards to accommodate Trump as not to look political instead of just treating him like any other criminal.
And that is why he did go into 2024 with one or more criminal convictions.
