Kamala Harris Election Campaign

True. His supporters don't understand that what he is doing also hurts them too. They don't understand that white supremacy does not pay the bills.

No they understand it perfectly.

They know their way of life (both real and imagined) isn't coming back. Manufacturing isn't coming back, coal isn't coming back, farms being these little family owned homesteads instead of giant business owned factories that just happen to be outdoors isn't coming back.

And their mythical, non-existent idea of the "past" as a place where women and minorities knew their place, gay people didn't exist, and transgenderism wasn't even a concept Tumblr had decided to invent yet and we all went to church on Sunday to be told how horrible we are and how much forgiveness we needed isn't coming back from the place where it never existed either.

Please people I beg you if you ignore absolutely everything else I say, dismiss everything I say, downplay everything I say please listen to this and honestly understand it.

TRUMP... WAS... NOT... ELECTED... TO... MAKE... THINGS... BETTER... FOR... TRUMP... SUPPORTERS.

He was elected to hurt the rest of us on the way out.

Please, please, please tell me none of you are operating under "There's a ceiling to how bad this could get because eventually the Trumpers will hurt themselves so much they'll snap out of it and turn on him." Because that's like a WWII Battleship Captain looking at the incoming Kamikaze Plane and going "I'm not worried, if he hits the ship he'll be destroyed as well. He'll turn away before he hits."

The vast, core central base of Trump supporters are NOT harboring any illusions that he even intends to make things "better" for him or that's what he's there for.

Trumps numbers and that unshakable base of support makes a lot more sense when you realize he's succeeding 100% at the job most people voted him in to do.

Yeah, that makes sense.

I just demonstrated that Trump is a terrible business person and a con.

And your response for Trump supporters continuing to support him is that Trump sticks his thumb in everyone's eye. But you're right. That is why they support him.

He proves the effectiveness of negative politics and sowing division.
It is much harder to work with others for the betterment of all than it is to tear it all down for the benefit of a tiny few. The joke is on those Trump supporters who like to see him stick his finger in every one's eyes. As they aren't the tiny few that benefits.

I'd say the irony is that the tiny few who you think benefit from his policy don't particularly like him any more than you do. Its not like the Kochs have seen some wind fall from tarriffs and harsh immigration policies.

For what ever its worth, he's a bad businessman and good salesman, his most virulent openents are terrible salesman. You aren't going to convince folks to vote for your guy by calling them names, even if you think those names are true, and even if those names are true. (not aimed at acbytesla).

ETA: In defense of Trumps supportors, they are basically doing what almost all people do almost all of the time. Post hoc rationalization of what they decided for reasons they didn't actually put much though into. Very human as all skeptics should know.

You don't understand. If you keep being nice and treating hardcore Trumpers like there is nothing wrong and abnormal about their positions, they wil labandon them. Any day now.

Really. You'll see.

Any day now.

Yes let us do that thing where we stop the thread for a bunch of concern trolling about how the people who have been openly hostile on levels never before seen in modern politics haven't been treated nicely enough in return.

Again this is how you can tell people think Trump is going to lose, we're getting the "Can't we just get along?" stuff instead of our normal 'LOL **** your feelign snowflakes' stuff.

Or, the question is, why do they vote for trump. A big part of it is that the left hates them with a passion. So, you can call it concern trolling if you want. You can also claim they have been more openly hostile on levels that have been unseen but that BS because you can't even seem see how calling folks white supremecists, morons, deplorable, etc is even hostile.

They would vote for him if lefties didn't call them the names that accurately define them anyway. Being nice to them doesn't work. They need to be called out.

Yes you can claim the Left has been more hostile to the Right.

If you want to be a lying liar who tells lying lies.

Racism. Misoginy. General anger at a world passing them by and leaving them without what they see as their birthright.

No, they led with their own hate all the way. They have had near total agency in all of this.

So, you can call it concern trolling if you want.

Well...it is.

You can also claim they have been more openly hostile on levels that have been unseen but that BS because

it was seen in 1930s Germany?

you can't even seem see how calling folks white supremecists, morons, deplorable, etc is even hostile.

They literally ran around with torches screaming "JEWS WILL NOT REPLACES US!"

One of them fired on coutne rprotestors at the same event.

One them DROVE HIS ******* CAR THROUGH A CROWD! Somehow, he only killed one person.

One of them opened fire in a Walmart to "fight the invasion of illegals".

They use the hate marches as an excuse to assault people they disagree with.

THEY STORMED THE CAPITOL TO OVER TURN THE ELECTION!

Calling them deplorable, white supramacist, stupid, weird, traitors, bigots, cretins, goons, morons, and every other name they have earned isn't hostile. It's well earned.

The "If you aren't nicer to me treating you like crap I might not like you back" gaslighting was played out years ago. It's frankly said to see it played now.

You elected a troll in chief. ******* own it. Don't play "Ah shucks why ya gotta be so mean?" card now.

I am reminded that the only reason I post in politics is because there is an audience. I did not actually claim the left has been more hostile the right, I just claim they have been. I get it, if you are for progress, anyone that disagrees with you must be for regress, if you are anti-fascist, anyone that disagrees with you must be a fascist. Makes sense.

I pretty much agree with most of this post. And you're right. The Kochs don't benefit (at least immediately) from immigration policies. But they do benefit from Trump's fossil fuel and foreign policy as well in destroying democracy. The Koch's money is almost entirely in the fossil fuels industry. The last thing they want is competition from alternative energy resources.

I really don't think Trump is that good a salesman. That said, we agree, he's bad businessman.

But isn't that the entire reason for his ascension? That he will run the country like a business. Here's a guy who says vote for me, because he know how to run things.

Yeah, he knows how to run things into the ground. He knows how to not pay his bills. He knows how to let others foot the bill. This guy has a 50 year history of cheating vendors, employees, customers, creditors and the government. He has declared bankruptcy 6 times. I mean 6 of his businesses declared bankruptcy. Many after previously forgiving some of his debts.

Trump is very good at one thing. Leveraging his failures and or his economic power to his own personal advantage. The biggest mistake anyone can make with Trump is to trust him. He will cheat you if he can. That is as true in politics as it is in his businesses.

Is he even good at the last? Is there any indication that he actually put in any strategies and knows the laws and loopholes? I strongly suspect that all the times he was bailed out it was the team of lawyers and capable economists inherited from daddy. Trump is a clear example why aristocracy is a stupid idea. At least aristocracy with actual power. He could be replaced by any airhead that can say the lines and noting would change.

Cohn and Wesselberg were entrenched in the company since Fred still had his faculties. theyu were the ones who got through all the legal loopholes, grey areas, and outright crimes that the Orange Weakling benefitted from.

You make a good point.

But he definitely understands how to use leverage, deception and forcing others to make decisions they wouldn't ordinarily make. Take Trump's business policy of not paying bills if he can avoid it. Of always re-negotiating bills after products and services have been delivered. He also does it with loans. It is definitely a strategy he uses to force others to accept smaller and delayed payments or tell them they will have to take him to court.

Vendors know that legal recourse naturally results in costs and delay so they very often give in. And Trump counts on this.

I have worked in sales most of my adult life. Since I don't get my commission until customers pay their bills, I am some times dealing with collections of receivables. I have dealt with customers like Trump. I know what they're doing. You have no choice but to accept less. But you never do business with them again on credit, or unless you have more leverage.

What Joe said... and keep in mind that MAGA Chuds are not generally intelligent enough to understand that voting for him harms them, and even those that do will vote for him anyway because they don't wanna have no communist, Marxist, socialist, queer-lovin' libs in power.

To bring it back to Harris, what does she mean by:

Assuming its not marxist spell of course. Its got a sort of poetry about it, I'd think it would be something she got from a poem but seems to be just something she likes to say.

It means that our future can be realized by escaping the bonds of the past.
