LOL. He's like a comedian testing new material with the crowd. If it works, he'll keep it.
They laughed. Doesn't say much for the intellect of his supporters. No wonder he "loves the poorly educated".

Could people try and get some perspective on this.
This is the not “the media” destroying Biden’s campaign.
This is Biden destroying his campaign.
He and the Democrats messed up that debate.
The point of that debate was to attack Trump.
Biden failed by looking senile.
Nobody’s fault, his, as he later tried to say.
He has put himself in this mess.
If he wanted the focus to be on Trump’s lies and on Project 2025, then come to the debate without your “resting 25th amendment face” as Jon Stewart called it.
They laughed. Doesn't say much for the intellect of his supporters. No wonder he "loves the poorly educated".
Have you seen anyone say so anywhere? I sure haven't.
But throughout the summit, other Nato leaders have been asked about his fitness as a leader, and all have defended him.
"[French President Macron] I saw him as always a president who is in charge, clear on the issues he knows well," he said.
"We all make slips of the tongue sometimes. It has happened to me before, it will probably happen to me tomorrow.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz also addressed the gaffes.
“Slips of the tongue happen, and if you always monitor everyone, you will find enough of them," he said.
UK Prime Minister Sir Keir said repeatedly during the summit that the US president had achieved much to be proud of there, and was "across all the detail".
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said it was a privilege and a pleasure to work with Mr Biden.
"[Biden's] depth of experience, his thoughtfulness, his steadfastness on the greatest issues and challenges of our time is a credit to the work that we're all doing together," he said, quoted by CBC.
Polish President Andrzej Duda, seen as being close to former President Trump, said, quoted by AFP: "I talked with President Biden, and there is no doubt that everything is ok."
Meanwhile Finnish President Alexander Stubb combined a defence of Mr Biden with fears about the atmosphere in the US elections.
"I have absolutely no concern about the capacity of the current president of the United States to lead his country and to lead our fight for Ukraine and to lead Nato," he said, quoted by AFP.
"The only thing I'm worried about is that the political climate in the United States right now is too toxic, is very polarised, and that doesn't leave enough room for a civilised and constructive debate."
The media is often slow to build a story, in this case, Biden's performance in the debate.
So Biden looking strong and presidential in the press conference doesn't jibe with the stories they're hot to push.
Even AP who I find the least biased are still not letting us forget about the debate yet, and perhaps rightly so.
Huh?!
I think people are too in thrall to the idea that there is a central organization called The Media who spend their time doing nothing but inventing narratives out of whole cloth.
Essentially it is a kind of conspiracy theory. And it is believed now by both Trumpists and Bidenists who seem to believe there is a Luggenpresse deceiving the population and killing the chances of the rightful leaders.
BUT this is belied by the fact that the Media is not one thing. There is right-wing, left-wing and alternative media. There are factions within that and there is also the fact that people can actually make up their own minds on things too.
The press conference that Biden did was being scrutinized so much because Biden had been such a gibbering wreck at the debate. This was not part one of a slowly building media narrative. It is just what happened. Then remember that he tried to clean up the mess with an interview one week later that despite being short and with a relatively gentle interviewer was also a complete mess.
Then in this supposedly amazing press conference, which should frankly be something Biden could do in his sleep, he called the president of the country being invaded by Russia, President Putin and called his own vice president Trump! Aside from that he was not really that great, but the bar is so low now that people are acting as if he just performed the Gettysburg address.
He didn’t. He was still not really that good, and worse yet he has a debate in September that I hold out no hope for, an interview on Monday and some event in Chicago in August.
He’s still looking very shaky to me and that is the fault of Biden and the people around him, not the press whose job it is is to scrutinize powerful people and call them out, not to pamper them or write propaganda for them. That latter job is the job of Morning Joe, which is Fox and Friends for liberals. They think their man is someone who should be deferred to as if he is a king and that it is rude to point out that he has no divine right to rule.
But I would say that the constant undermining of Biden by certain
Progressives because he was not being as far to the left was they would like has something to do with the debacle facing us.
You should contact CNN and ask for a job as a political pundit. Like their pundits, you could get paid a lot for spouting nonsense. And by the way, this is "USA Politics", not "Conspiracies and Conspiracy Theories," that's one forum up.

I'm having deja vu, too: you ignoring the content of my post about the warning by "one of America’s most eminent and well-respected historians of the Holocaust" in order to get in a snarky jibe. Not mistaken.
Of course you are precisely correct. Americans are too close to this.I didn't ignore it, it's just bollocks.
If he'd won a Nobel Prize he'd be on this list: https://theprint.in/science/nobel-l...ti-vaxxers-calls-covid-a-lab-accident/665710/
Your shtick of comparing Trump to Hitler is as stupid as dudalb's promises of civil war.
4 years of Trump didn't destroy anything and 4 more years won't either.
Trump is correct, the media is becoming the enemy of the people, to Trump's benefit.
The media is often slow to build a story, in this case, Biden's performance in the debate.

And the idea that the media is conspiraing to elect Trump being pushed by some people is pure conspiracy looniness.
Trump to reveal VP at convention. Showman Trump. Only, it will flop if it is one of the 3 we know. Kristi Noem, puppy killer, would do it.
He probably hasn't actually decided yet. It goes to whoever grovels and genuflects the most impressively before then.
A short rant concerning a relationship between sloppy language and sloppy thought.
With my highlighting:
The media are plural. The lamentably common linguistic sloppiness of saying "the media is", as though the media were singular, may be part of the reason some people are in the habit of thinking the media are just one thing.
