Someone please tell me that this is all just an elaborate plan to make Biden actually look stronger.

It's an elaborate plan to put Trump at such ease that he cruise controls the campaign over the cliff ala Hillary in 2016?? Best I can do.

With his now supposed "Immunity," he may finally get around to shooting that guy on Fifth Avenue; the one whose foot is his own.
The color of October may well be maroon.

He's right. You think I'm not fit, say it to my face! Put your money where your mouth is!

If he's reelected, there's gonna be some Dems who will wish they'd kept their mouths shut when they find their new office is behind the boiler in the House basement.

Well, it is the summer crazy season:

Two ‘Well Connected’ Dems Reportedly Shopping Plan for ‘Blitz Primary’ to Replace Biden — Including Candidate Forums Moderated By … Taylor Swift?

The panic among Democrats about whether President Joe Biden will step aside has officially reached the Can Taylor Swift Save Us? stage.

According to a report from Semafor, two “well connected” Democrats have been circulating a memo to party donors proposing a plan for a “blitz primary” to replace Biden. The memo — written by Georgetown law professor and former Obama administration staffer Rosa Brooks, along with venture capitalist and Democratic donor Ted Dintersmith — proposes a month-long primary featuring six candidates who receive the most votes from party delegates. The delegates would then decide the party’s eventual nominee right before the Democratic National Convention in Chicago — which starts on Aug. 19.

"Well connected"? More like "who the **** are you?" and "attention whores."

Among the many parts of this plan sure to be dismissed as fanciful by critics, all the candidates must pledge to run a positive campaign. And the plan would require the immediate and complete support of President Biden — who, of course, has insisted he is remaining in the race.

So where does Taylor Swift come in? As part of their plan, Brooks and Dintersmith propose weekly forums with the six potential candidates — which would be moderated by various cultural icons. Among the names floated as potential moderators; Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, and yes, Taylor Swift.

And while the haters gonna hate, Brooks claims her far-flung plan has been met with “near-universal support,” according to Semafor.

Translation: "Near-universal support" means "My very small clique of idiot friends. I also asked my cats and they approve!"

“We can limp to shameful, avoidable democracy-ending defeat,” the memo states (per Semafor). “Or Democrats can make this Our Finest Hour.”

The only thing that's shameful is you.

That letter Biden sent to Congress demanding that they shut up and bow down was thoroughly Trumpical. Read it with Trump's voice in your head and there's practically no difference but grammar; the dishonesty and the "me me me" attitude are exactly identical. The part about the "democratic selection process" by which "the voters have spoken" and picked him "by a wide margin" is the most Trumpical and the most disgusting; not only is it all lies, but he's the guy who made it be exactly the opposite of what he's claiming it was, precisely because he knew nobody wanted him, and he's now trying to use the results of his own selfish scale-thumbing to prove how much everybody loves him. He might as well have been talking about the huge crowd size at some recent event of his, "which the media will never tell you".

This election is worse than a choice between two old mentally unwell (although in different ways) guys with little grasp of reality. It's that plus also a choice between two guys who think the purpose of the Presidency is to have their whole country serve & glorify them.

I get it. When Biden acts weak, he's got dementia. When he acts strong, he's Trumpian. Gotcha. :oldroll:

Not only has nobody here connected dementia with "weak", nor have I even said he has dementia, but, on top of those, you are the one who just read about Trumpish behavior and called that "strong".

This can't be accurate. I have cats and they don't approve of anything except cardboard boxes.

No, I read about Biden's behaviour after the debate and called it strong. The Trumpian thing is your doing.

Now I've just watched the Jon Stewart episode and he says some good things. But nowhere does he say Biden is as bad as Trump.

No. When a President of the United States tells us that the will of his party, and the American people, and the concerned citizens of the world deserve no definitive and reasonable answers, it is a dereliction of duty. No test will be taken.

Denial and hubris at a grand scale. I guess 'the Lord Almighty' can come down and tell him what to do. Not party members or voters. NO, NOT THEM! They dont know what they are talking about. They wouldnt do that.
Only God counts for quitting.

His mental deficiencies are a risk to world events. This is unrelated to Trump. Joe Biden is the potus NOW, til Jan 2025

His recent strong statements are often pre-prepared lies to cover his deficiencies. And even prepared and practiced, they do not make sense. At all. He is mentally compromised as a commander in chief.
He needs to be forced to step down.

And now that it's a chunk of his own party finally admitting it and telling him to act accordingly, it's clear that he knows he has a problem and is still carrying on anyway, because what he's responding to isn't something his own party would be doing otherwise.
