Luton Airport Car Park Fire

In the case of the Cork car park fire, the driver was interviewed virtually straight away explaining that as she got out of her Opel Zafira, the thing caught fire. It took eight weeks to even remove the car and a further two years or so to establish liability as the shopping centre that was destroyed also sued.
What has this to do with your attempted obfuscation of the type of car that ignited at Luton airport? Which remains a diesel Range Rover....

Magnesium alloy in wheels and some lightweight rank cases and heads burns very well and is hard to put out.
It can even catch light when you are welding it if you aren't using the right techniques with plenty of experience.
My SO had a few old NeXT cases, magnesium alloy. Tricky to ignite but spectacular.

Surely, if the driver wanted to speak to the press, he could. Do you have any evidence that there is any sort of gag?

The police have not identified the driver, but as far as I know, it's quite usual NOT to do so. The driver hasn't spoken to the press, but I should think that any good lawyer would advise him not to do interviews (since they can only harm his interests).

So, aside from the fact he hasn't been interviewed, what evidence of a "gag" have you?

This line of "argument" was trotted out in another one of these threads: essentially if certain things have not been said by certain individulas it can only be because of some class of legal or quasi-legal "gag", not that particular individuals were never going to say whatever, let alone anything else. In classic CT stylee, absence is evidence of conspiracy.

This is part of how threads like this one run for 10s or hundreds of tens, or something, of pages...

No, I am not "persisting with a conspiracy theory that the car was a EV or hybrid and it's been hushed up".

I am following the hard, cold, objective science. Not the politics, not the 'Full Facts PR', not the 'legal issues' and not the 'at this stage...subject to verification' issues.

You can obediently wait until the DAILY MAIL let's you know what to think. Us scientists can see for ourselves.

You're not and have never been a scientist.

See also the News blackout in Birmingham stabbing event thread, in which multiple press reports and a police press release weren't evidence that there wasn't a news blackout.

She has a GPT in Physics.

She studied physics for 9° as I recall.

Doing science to meet educational benchmarks isn't the same as being a scientist. Science is a specific body of practice. Being a scientist means embracing and acting according to that body of practice, either professionally, recreationally, or both. Whatever science Vixen may have studied in school, whatever science she may have done to meet certain educational benchmarks, Vixen manifestly does not practice science here at ISF. Nor does she seem to have embraced the scientific body of practice in her life generally.

Of Corse, you forgot the diesels in the Sport have Turbo issues the oil seals can leak engine oil into the exhaust causing Runaway like issues.
That happened to my friend's diesel ute last year. Very scary. The engine raced to max revs and he couldn't turn it off! The whole vehicle was engulfed in thick white smoke, and all he could do was jump out and wait for the engine to destroy itself. A similar thing happened to my brother with a diesel generator. Luckily in that case it ran out of oil before it could self-destruct.

I don't think that's what happened here though. More likely it was a fuel leak ignited by friction or an electrical short.

I have watched a few YouTube videos of gas cars catching fire in the engine bay, and it almost always shoots flames out the bottom first before melting the hood.

It is crazy to pretend that this was an innocuous diesel fire.
'innocuous' diesel fire? You're kidding, right? :boggled:

Aaaaaand..... Vixen reveals her true CT views, ditching the "some people are saying" sleight-of-hand to go full-on batcrap sloblock.
The sad thing is she isn't the only one. Probably a third of the population is totally invested in this being an EV fire. The disappointment they experience on finding out that it isn't only steels their resolve to insist otherwise.

I'm more interested in whether you will believe the final report when it comes out. Will you accept it only if it says the vehicle was a hybrid? Or will you accept it even if it says the vehicle was a plain diesel engine?

Historical evidence shows - if it does not agree with Vixen's preconceived (and wrong) ideas it will be a coverup, and a new investigation will be demanded.

Probably not. See, for example, the Estonia threads, in which Vixen repeatedly claimed that another poster had described the illegal deportation of two Egyptians from Sweden as 'just an ordinary deportation', despite his having actually referred to it as "against Sweden's own rules", "illegal", "reprehensible and illegal", and "a totally different crime, that of enforced deportation".
