Luton Airport Car Park Fire

See Vixen’s reference above to Prince Philip. She is slowly, very slowly, setting up a conspiracy to divert attention from the British royal family, and the vehicles they drive.

Prince Andrew is involved, right?

It's OK. I once had a boss who used to bring me in 'brain teasers' every day because he wanted to show me that I wasn't as clever as I thought (in his mind; I never told him I was). I thought the Luton Airport Car Park fire was interesting. Others clearly believe there is nothing to see here. If people feel threatened, nothing I can do about it. <shrug>.

Always a self-aggrandizing story

He may have been onto something there.

ETA: Should that be 'on to', rather than 'onto'? I don't know, but I would welcome correction if I've ballsed that up.

In the case of the Cork car park fire, the driver was interviewed virtually straight away explaining that as she got out of her Opel Zafira, the thing caught fire. It took eight weeks to even remove the car and a further two years or so to establish liability as the shopping centre that was destroyed also sued.

And did they immediately tell drivers of that model to go to a mechanic and have it looked over? Did they have a recall within a couple of weeks, as you've suggested should happen here?

I would call it 'diplomacy'. Mr. Hopkinson chose his words carefully so that he wouldn't be lying. It was a prepared statement. Lawyers will have looked over it. The Home Office or whoever is responsible for that department will have advised on the issue.

It is rather like the government declining to declare there will be a food shortage in a certain area to prevent there being a run on the shops or withhold the details of an 'ongoing incident', all for logistical, political or organisational reasons. Calling it 'lying' just sounds coarse.

“We have no intelligence at this stage to suggest that this was anything other than an accidental fire that started in one of the vehicles that had not long arrived at the airport. It was not an EV. This was a diesel powered vehicle.”

If the car was an EV, then this is a lie. Now, maybe the "at this stage" applies to the denial it's an EV, but even then if they had intelligence for that fact when this announcement was made, it's not diplomacy; it's just a lie.

Ah, but what if it's a hybrid? Then perhaps they are being disingenuous but not quite lying. To call a diesel hybrid "diesel powered" is very misleading.

But now let's suppose that the final report comes out and it explicitly says it was a normal diesel vehicle -- not an EV, nor a hybrid. Will you believe it?

If not, what the hell does it matter what the police say? You will believe them only if they confirm your suspicions. Hence, all this crap about whether they are being diplomatic and whether they stress the limitations of their knowledge now is really inconsequential. Either they end up explicitly agreeing with you in the end or you dismiss what they say as either a lie or "diplomacy"[1].

[1] Funny use of that word, honestly.

I can Lite the diesel with anything that is 600c. The diesel reaches temperatures of around 2000C with the leaf Blower to Dry the brush and get the green brush to burn at 1000c.
Also the waisted a straw Bale, and a lot of Fuel I use about 1
Pint to one Quart of expensive diesel for pile. OXIDATION is dependent on wind speed.

What a curious fantasy. Do you like to imagine people feel threatened by conspiracist nonsense?

Her current theory assumes fear of such nonsense is the only motive force that could overcome our internal resistance to the flow of mirth.

She overlooks the power of silliness as a catalyst in reactions that discharge stored laughter.

Information is definitely being withheld, for reasons we are not yet apprised of. Could be legal, could be political, could be government interference, could be an ongoing police issue.

That is not the same thing as lying, corruption or misrepresentation.

It is lying if they say it was a diesel when it was in fact a hybrid or EV. They have said, definitively, that it was a diesel. Are they lying?

FOIs during the pandemic often had a delayed response and a lack of resources to do large searches, such as every vehicle fire, compounds the problem.

Others clearly believe there is nothing to see here. If people feel threatened, nothing I can do about it. <shrug>.

Nice try on reversing the burden of proof here, but you posted the OP. YOU obviously believe there IS something to see here; everyone else is just showing skepticism that what you see is there.

You keep massaging the facts and doing a bait and switch on the questions put to you, but in the end, there's still no there there.

No, we're not threatened by your imagination, sorry.
