Cont: Today's Mass Shooting (2)

Although it has been entertaining to watch the pronoun usage struggle with this last shooter, there is no need to be courteous to the memory of a monster. Don't let Political Correctness paralyze your understanding.

The monster in this Nashville shooting was born with a 23rd pair of "XX" chromosomes and so if we follow the science, was female. It really doesn't matter what it wished to identify as, the correct pronoun to refer to a monster would be "it".

I too love to seize on tragedies like school shootings as an excuse to push my personal spite for transgenderism in general as the only correct position because thinking otherwise would be giving a school shooter too much respect.

Sadly it is the only thing unusual in this case. School shootings in the USA are pretty much "Dog bites man" these days, it has to be something unusual, the "Man bites dog", for it to be elevated above the norm.

Exactly this. No meaningful discussion of any changes to gun laws will take place and any suggestions to try and reduce the death toll will be nitpicked to death, with the only acceptable option being 'more guns!'. The fetishization of guns in the USA is an actual issue which gender labelling or drag queens are not, but one that will never be addressed.

Wouldn't the thread be better served by addressing any arguments/deflections that are being made in defence of the shooter?

I've searched the thread and haven't found any arguments/deflections being made in defense of the shooter, so is this statement functionally just asking for the thread to die, or...?

Nobody is defending the shooter. However, quite a number of Americans contend that mass murders of children are an unavoidable and acceptable consequence of enforcing the current interpretation of the 2nd Amendment.

The police released some bodycam footage of their response to the shooting. My initial impression is that they were quite set on not letting the situation turn into another Uvalde.

It's not that I think there is any level of importance being ignored, I just don't see the point in misrepresenting imaginary contributors by attributing positions that you've made up.

When Uvalde happened one of the deflections used was the unlocked side door through which the shooter entered the school. The teacher who last operated the door was almost made into a scape goat until it was discovered that the door was broken. Then the focus shifted to that fact.

The first reports mentioned that the shooter in Nashville entered through an unlocked side door. I was just predicting that to be a deflection from the fact that 6 people - 3 kids under 12 - again became victims for USAs gun fetish.

Context enough for you?

They looked well rehearsed, trained and knew what to do. The contrast is huge.

If your goal is dehumanisation, sure, why not?

Interesting facts that can lead to all sorts of speculation: One of the school's founders was John Perry. He's famous for being Mike Huckabee's ghost writer and all the children he raped. The church, which ran the school, continued to place children it thought were being abused by their parents in his house knowing he was a confessed child molester. The shooter would have been in elementary and then middle school at the time this was going on with the church which ran the school actively covering up sexual abuse at the time. It shouldn't need to be said, but no, that isn't an excuse to shoot up a school. Obviously. But it is a possible motive, especially as people who did raise concerns about the actions of the church were met with physical assault and threats.

'Louder with Crowder' is calling to put all trans people in camps. Don't suggest that the people who agree with him agree with him though, that's 'not skeptical'. And no, it isn't any better if the people who agree with him platform his messages on the issue they agree with him on. Still 'doesn't count' because reasons.

Feel free to do you. I voice no opinion of people that are not happy with their XX or XY chromosome pair. I simply maintain that a mass killer is a monster.

Well well well, would you look at that...

The fact that this person got through a side door means that security needs to be taken more seriously

Yes, I know. That was my point.

so is this statement functionally just asking for the thread to die, or...?

Are you advocating that we make up a position that nobody is espousing and argue against it?

Nobody is defending the shooter.

Again, that was my point.

However, quite a number of Americans contend that mass murders of children are an unavoidable and acceptable consequence of enforcing the current interpretation of the 2nd Amendment.

This bears no relation to my complaint.

Frankly, no. Clearly, it's just me though.

Then have at it!

Have at what exactly? I predicted this:

Reports say that the shooter entered through an unlocked side door. I guess we know what the deflection from the real issue will be..

You took issue with this because that was "misrepresenting imaginary contributors by attributing positions that you've made up".

Then Faux News did exactly what I predicted. Do you still think that the "arguments defending the shooter" needs addressing? Have at it, then.
