Sure. I was just pointing out that "transman" and "transwoman" aren't the ideal terms. There are more important issues at hand.
 
So it turns out Hale did not do this on the spur of the moment but had planned things out in detail. Hale surveiled several targets choosing the school because of it's lack of security. So it may have nothing to do with it being a religious school. I haven't seen verification he was a student there* and if so it was in the distant past. Hale also had lots of ammo and left a manifesto. So whatever was eating at his soul has to be pretty bad for him to kill 9 y/o kids and staff when he apparently did not know any of them personally. Cops did good to stop him fairly quickly.

He had no criminal record. Hard to see what could have prevented this given Tenn. existing liberal gun laws. And it's not like someone else bought him guns or he bought them illegally.. Perhaps the manifesto will shed some light.

I would be surprised if at least a summary wasn't made public. They are first going to investigate it to see if anyone else might have been involved even if indirectly. They won't release stuff that could incite disturbed people further. That's my take. Might be wrong.

(In passing... it's interesting and instructive to observe how some media outlets - and many social media/internet forum activists - are being somewhat blindsided by the apparent perpetrator being a trans man. They've seemingly become so accustomed to attacks/mockery/denialism exclusively against trans women that they're clearly finding it difficult to get their heads around the woman-to-man flavour of transgender identity.)

Wouldn't the thread be better served by addressing any arguments/deflections that are being made in defence of the shooter?

If only there was some way to prevent anything like this from happening again.

That's what the BBC just said. They quoted the police as saying the shooter was born female but on their Facebook page, they used male pronouns.

See? Something new to focus on. Because they killed all those children with their transgenderness.
And therefore that should be focused on. In fact, I'm sure the GOP is ready to tighten those laws even more.

It has nothing to do with anyone being able to easily get assault weapons without any checks or anything.

Sadly it is the only thing unusual in this case. School shootings in the USA are pretty much "Dog bites man" these days, it has to be something unusual, the "Man bites dog", for it to be elevated above the norm.

I remember an incident years ago in which someone squirted his neighbor with a Super Soaker. The neighbor then went into his house and came back out with a gun, and shot the water gun assailant dead. Sure enough, a politician soon responded with a call for a ban on Super Soakers.
 
Although it has been entertaining to watch the pronoun usage struggle with this last shooter, there is no need to be courteous to the memory of a monster. Don't let Political Correctness paralyze your understanding.

The monster in this Nashville shooting was born with a 23rd pair of "XX" chromosomes and so if we follow the science, was female. It really doesn't matter what it wished to identify as, the correct pronoun to refer to a monster would be "it".
 
An awful lot of news outlets seem to be misgendering the shooter. That's the real crime here.

It's not that I think there is any level of importance being ignored, I just don't see the point in misrepresenting imaginary contributors by attributing positions that you've made up.

Having said that, each to his/her own, so my apologies for the observation and you crack on.
