Greta Thunberg - brave campaigner or deeply disturbed? Part II.

It's hardly fair to discredit her for, as a child, being propped up by her guardians and others as a useful idiot for global elites who made a show of welcoming her sermons even as they ignored them. That's all to the discredit of her parents.

It's to the discredit of her fans, her cargo-cultists, that they celebrate her failed campaign as if it were a huge success, while ignoring their role as willing dupes of the same regime that exploited her conviction and naivete for their own cynical ends.

Sure. If Newt is telling Burke not to bring the xenomorph to Earth. And Burke is nodding and smiling and agreeing that would be a bad idea, while he brings the xenomorph back to Earth. And Ripley is praising Newt for working so hard to keep Burke from bringing the xenomorph back to Earth, and for coming this close to preventing the xenomorph from arriving on Earth.

Then yeah, I guess I can see the analogy.

You're missing it here, for everyone else that you say is really at fault, you've built in that Greta is a "useful idiot", which is discrediting her as I mentioned.

Same in your version of the Aliens analogy, it would seem odd to call Newt a "useful idiot" when she is correct about not bringing the xenomorph to Earth.

Okay, sure.

Analogy aside, my view is that Greta Thunberg the Child Celebrity was useful to the elites who invited her to address them at Davos and the COP events. She was useful to them because it gave them a way to pay lip service to the concerns of millions without actually doing any of the things she urged them to do.

And she was an idiot in the sense that she allowed herself to be used in this way, without realizing that she was being exploited by a cynical cabal that did not actually have her best interests in mind.

Of course, it's not really fair to call her an 'idiot', since she was a child at the time. Is there a non-judgemental sense of the word? Anyway, the term is well-known, and I think an accurate description of the dynamic between child Greta and the global elite she harangued at their request.

I'm more than happy to blame her parents for the child exploitation, but I think that would entail crediting her parents, and not her, for her activism. Fans of Child Celebrity Climate Activist Greta can't have it both ways.

Hilarious! There is a side note.

Weirdo conservative Mattt Walsh tried to defend Tate because while he is worried about LGBTQ “groomers” he seeems to support human trafficking scum like Tate.

In his comeback video he was coincidentally wearing an orange red gown and smoking a cigar and is bald like Homer. And by trying to own Greta tipped off the Romanian authorities with a pizza box from Romania…

That's like being funny by trying the explain a joke, and yes, it makes him look Homer levels of stupid.

No idea who those idiots are, but the whole thing was fun.

Haha, brilliant!

eta: For those who haven't watched that amazing video of this Tate character --- and really, you should, it's cringe comedy gold --- he starts out his rant by first asking someone to send him pizza, and asking them to make sure that the boxes aren't recyclable. All the while sitting at table in a weird red bathrobe thing.

Although, sadly for the karma angle, the authorities claim the pizza boxes were not a factor (I did think they'd have a better way of knowing if Tate were in the country than relying on social media).

Following online speculation that the brand of pizza featured in the video helped police confirm Tate’s presence in Romania, Thunberg quipped on Twitter that “this is what happens when you don’t recycle your pizza boxes”.

However, the anti organised-crime unit representative said that it was not the case that Tate’s arrest had been made as a result of the pizza boxes

She's young, short, homely, and odd.

Like Joan of Arc, only in a far better cause.

But keep trying to burn her down, theprestige. It's the least you can do. Or the most, or some damn thing.

It's easy to laugh at Tate's misfortune (very easy), but if he's actually guilty of what he's been arrested for, then he really is a monster. Not that I've had any reason to doubt his sincerity about being a homophobic, misogynistic piece of ****, but I wondered how much of his social media persona was just him eating boogers on the playground for quarters. But it's looking like there may be little to no exaggeration of his over-the-top vileness for the sake of ratings. He's like a twelve-year-old boy's concept of the ultimate man.
