Greta Thunberg - brave campaigner or deeply disturbed? Part II.

In Sweden 'kids' in the 3rd grade of high school are old enough to vote, so they can certainly make changes - even without activism.

This attitude that "I am not in a position to make changes" is wrong. We can all make changes - if we choose to. If we fail to halt global warming it will because there are too many people in this world who expect someone else to do it.

If you recall grassroots gradual measures are not enough. I was told that many times. I don't believe that and still do my personal measures no matter how futile I was told it is.

The true Greta fans said we need immediate top level government drastic changes.
Like an immediate end to all use of petroleum products. Yeah, realistic stuff like that that.

Funny you put it like that. Greta's brave campaign centered around expecting someone else to do it. Her whole thing was an impassioned appeal to world leaders, to make the immediate, drastic policy changes that only they could make.

Are you offing serious? A dry small amount of people are World Leaders. Neither you, nor I are world leaders. Alongside with personal behavior, sometimes attempts at influencing power, via vote or other activities are good things. Have we now moved on to: This person isn't a world dictator so is actually a bad person?

Tell it to Roger Ramjets. He's the one who thinks expecting other people to solve this problem is a bad thing. The truth is - as you and I and Greta recognize - her particular problem could only be solved by (specific) other people.

Hopefully we'll move on to acknowledging that her attempt failed, predictably, and we all watched it failing in real time even as some people celebrated that attempt.
