But one needs to think about logistics as opposed to what looks intimidating in a parade.
Well that certainly seems at odds with what is being reported in the West but if true then it should quickly become apparent when Ukrainian defensive lines crumble because of the high rate of losses and desertions.
My personal view is that both sides tend to exaggerate their own gains and their opponents' losses but Ukrainian figures seem to be consistent with observation of what is happening on the ground whilst Russian numbers seem seem less anchored in reality.

But people here are parroting since months how the Russians are running out of this and that and the other, and not achieving their (presumed) goals, but it never happened. This junk many parrot here is propaganda and should at some time be realized as that. Which doesn't mean that I think every world on the Telegram channel from a war party like MoD Russia is to be believed. But, remember, audiatur et altera pars, thousands of years old principle, if you want to form a sober judgement.
And the Russians do seem to have completely changed tack from the early days of the war so that they have a much lower requirement for humans, something that it's been said that they're short of. That's also consistent with them broadening the recruitment rules and now insisting that each federal unit provides at least one 400 man unit.
Likewise with the move away from complex, high value equipment. With the alleged hypersonic weapons it was, IIRC, one and out. There seems to be an increasing reliance on older tanks and other armoured vehicles which seems to strongly imply a shortage of the newer stuff.
As regards Russia's goals. They weren't explicitly stated at the start but their change from a multi-front war of movement (which went badly) to instead focus on one tiny part of Eastern Ukraine seems to reflect a fundamental change in approach forced upon them.
Your mileage clearly varies by a significant amount.
In the absence of primary information (and what military in its right mind would release details of their losses and failures), conclusions have to be drawn from secondary sources. Russia's broadening of, and increased urgency relating to the recruitment of soldiers seems to indicate that they are currently short of them.
The consolidation of positions on most fronts seems to indicate that they cannot (currently) advance on those fronts.
Withdrawing from Snake Island seems to indicate that they could not hold it at a cost they were willing to pay.
The "pause" on the Eastern front seems to relate to a lack of available ordnance.
There may be other reasons for the above, but they don't make sense militarily.

Reminds me of General Schwarzkopf and the liberation of Kuwait. The battle lines are closely drawn around a strong defensive position in Kuwait City. So Schwarzkopf expands the map until Kuwait City is in the upper right hand corner, and the rest of the map is taken up by the vast inhospitable desert between Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Then he establishes these massive supply depots, way out there in the desert, where the Iraqis cannot possibly see them or get to them. Then he deploys major troop formations out there, supplied by those depots, and swings in on the Republican Guard with a devastating left hook straight out of the deep desert.
To this day I'm convinced that Saddam Hussein and his general staff never even imagined the deep desert would be a maneuver area in that war. I think they honestly believed that as long as they had Kuwait City buttoned up, and the road to Baghdad open behind them, they'd be okay.

Drone swarms appear to offer many possibilities, quite unlike the boom boom stuff. Interesting.
Picture a Schwarm of, say, a dozen Switchblade 600s headed on a night attack toward Dump A. Russian radar is tracking them. Suddenly they disperse, reunite on a heading toward Dump B, converge for their final dives, and broadcast a chorus of Kimigayo in wierd newt voices just before impact.
Know what? The technology already exists to do exactly that.

It looks as though Russia thought it's S400 missiles would defend against US long range guided rockets.
I mentioned the Switchblade 600 just because it's well known and, as these things go, not very high tech. Swarm users would almost certainly deploy bigger and more ingenious drones for attacks on logistic centers.
When they want to strike command posts, smaller buzzers would be sufficient. Unless Gen. Pissodnavitch uses an armored latrine, he can be neutralized by a grenade's worth of plastique.

Of course they were. I told you about it several times. They made demands of NATO going back to where they were, and promised to stay, in 1997. Demands were made in late 2021. NATO said we don't even talk to you. Russia said then we will do it ourselves, saw the point about the time that Green T-Shirt Comedy guy showed up at the Munich "Security" Conference and said that they plan to return to being a nuclear armed nation, which was the final drop in the bucket for Russia. In late January 2022.
The fact that all this context is not covered at all by the "western" "mainstream" media should tell you something if you had researched the topic. Well, it's all in the open, good luck.
