The longer this drags on with continued success on the part of Ukraine in resisting the Russian advances, the more I'm hopeful of a successful outcome for Ukraine. With the convoy to Kyiv completely stalled, more and more aid coming in from the West, and Russia's economy on the brink of collapse due to sanctions, the idea Ukraine might actually win this war is no longer unthinkable.
I'm reminded of World War II when, while making an address to the Canadian House of Commons in Ottawa, Winston Churchill famously said, “When I warned them [officials of the French government] that Britain would fight on alone whatever they did, their generals told their Prime Minister and his divided Cabinet, ‘In three weeks England will have her neck wrung like a chicken.’ Some chicken! Some neck!”
