I doubt it too, Ukrainian pilots would probably have to use the English version, probably like when Ukrainian soldiers use Javelin anti-tank missiles and Stinger anti-aircraft missiles supplied by the West.

I wouldn't be too happy about a Putin in a similar situation. Adolf had no buttons to push. But Putin has. Adolf would have certainly took the rest of the world down with him, if he had the chance.

As much as I like to see Ukraine winning this war, I fear what it will do to Putin's already deranged idiocy.

Zelensky is a far more charismatic leader than Putin, he's played a 'blinder' so far.
His use of social media has been textbook. He's been sincere and shown empathy, but it's also calculated. He knows what he's doing, and he's doing it that way because he knows it's effective.

Don't give them f-35s. Give them Su27s, Su25, Mig29s that are currently in NATO inventory - all of the old Warsaw Pact nations still have those with upgrades.

So give those to Ukraine and replace them in NATO inventory with F-35s (or F-18s, F-16, F-15). It would take time for the ex-Warsaw Pact nations to train up on the new jets, but they have time.

Ukraine, by contrast, could make use of donated Su-27s, Mig-29s, and SU-25s today. No need to train up much, just get up to speed with whatever upgrades the old Soviet era NATO jets have that Ukrainian Soviet era jets didn't.

This seems to be an interesting idea.

I hope the people who were calling for the Ukrainians to surrender without a fight are feeling suitably ashamed.

I feel ashamed of those celebrating the deaths of young Russian men. The invasion is wrong but no deaths are things to be pleased about. The whole thing is sad, anything to bring about a cessation of violence should be considered.

The shipment includes 200 Stinger missiles and 50 Panzerfaust-3 anti-tank weapons with 400 missiles.

Defence Minister Kasja Ollongren says they are also investigating, in co-operation with Germany, the possibility of supplying Patriot missiles to a Nato battlegroup being formed in Slovakia.

"There was a careful but, given the circumstances, shortened check to make sure this meets weapons exports criteria," she says.

I’ve found it noteworthy and commendable that the Ukrainian government is handing out AK47’s and other armament to civilians, trained or untrained in their use. And instructing civilians on how to make Molotov cocktails.

Streetfighting in Kiev could be a nightmare for Russian troops if they start receiving fire from multiple high rises and firefights on nearly every street corner.

Guerilla fighting can bog down the Russian troops and inflict huge casualties, albeit on both sides. Even if the Russians prevail in the near term, partisans continuing to fight and sabotage their troops and supply lines could make the occupation extremely costly, in both blood and treasure. We’ll see if the Russian populace has the stomach for it, especially after their experiences in Afghanistan.

The Ukrainians have every right to defend themselves and their government to the very best of their abilities against an unprovoked, brutal attack. I'm not ashamed in wishing them success in that effort. Putin can end the violence anytime he wants by simply recalling his troops.

The Russians know how to deal with insurgents in an urban environment far from their international borders. It's probably a bit different when you're creating a humanitarian crisis and committing war crimes just across the border from mobilized NATO member Poland.

And don't forget that NATO has some experience dealing with separatists, nationalists, and war criminals in Eastern Europe. And some experience dealing with aggressive dictators fielding poorly trained troops and obsolete Russian military hardware.

I think this conflict will take on a very different tone if Putin starts doing things to Ukranians that the rest of the world simply cannot ignore.

I'd like to agree. And I don't like seeing the dejected faces of captured Russians who may not be very enthusiastic about doing this.

Patriots will be deployed along the NATO borders with Russia.
They are a safeguard and message to Putin.

This is a false equivalence. Russia is clearly the aggressor. Whether you feel they were provoked is beside the point. It's like with children The first may provoke bad action but the second is wrong to act. This is why there are laws against incitement. No one looks good, but make no mistake, the actor is clearly wrong.

It won't be enough to end hostilities. Russia must receive a rap on the knuckles to prevent it happening again!
