Yeah but given... *gestures broadly at the world* I consider stuff like this not over until it's over, sentenced, and the last appeal has been denied.

The rug of justice has been pulled out from under us at the last minute one too many times, as it was.

Hell the Governor's a Republican, hope he doesn't pardon them.

ETA: Looks like Georgia is one of only 9 states where the Governor doesn't have pardon power, so at least there's that to no worry about.

In Georgia, it's a lot harder to get a pardon than in most states. The governor has no pardon power. That authority rests with the State Board of Pardons and Parole and you can't even apply until five years after you've completed your sentence. These three wouldn't even be eligible for early release because violent felons are prohibited from being granted parole.

Travis - Guilty - Malice Murder. The rest means nothing. That's 30 years.

Guilty - Felony Murder x4

Aggravated assault - Guilty x2

False imprisonment - Guilty

Surprised there was any difference for Travis and Greg. I don't agree with but "get" the lesser charges for Roddie.

Excellent. No doubt the resident racists and rightists will be along to claim this is a terrible miscarriage of justice.

Note to self: If ever I or friends of mine are accused of a crime, it might be better if I don't release a video of me or them actually committing the crime.

They literally would have gotten away with it if not for the video release that was intended to show their innocence.

I don't think I understand why there are multiple felony murder charges for each defendant. Isn't the legal question: "Was a murder committed, and did you participate?"

They had, no "would" about it gotten away with it before the video leaked.
