Texas safeguards the 2nd Amendment.
Today, Constitutional carry goes into effect.
Texans who legally own a gun are now allowed to carry it in public. No license or training is needed.
Look for a rise in the number of dead Texans.
Contee said the suspects exited a vehicle and fired shots down the block, into a crowd of individuals hanging out there. He said he wasn't sure why the crowd was targeted.
Also, as has been pointed out, even the USA regulated vehicle operation more stringently than access to firearms.I think the bigger problem with the comparison with cars is that motor vehicles are a vital part of the infrastructure. You can't have everyone within walking distance of where they work any more, or not without completely killing the economies of scale (1000 small workshops will not be as efficient as the same number of people in one big factory). And good luck getting the materials there and then the products to the shops with... err... what? Canals like waay back?
So, tragic as it may be, we need to put up with a number of accidental deaths to keep the economy going. We would like to eliminate as many as possible, mind you, but not if it means turning into a third country and possibly causing even more deaths by starvation.
I don't think the same argument works for guns. In fact, we have more than enough examples of countries where it's very very hard to get a gun (e.g., Japan) and it didn't seem to affect their economy much.
They'll hardly be noticed due to the Covidiocy.Look for a rise in the number of dead Texans.
ACCPD has identified Pharoah Devonell Williams, 21, as the suspect.

Licenses for use, extensive, specialised, law enforcement monitoring of usage, substance abuse tests for operators, restrictions on where vehicles can be operated, et cetera.
Absolutely.Indeed. Just pointing out that even then, there's a reason we need one, that doesn't apply to the other. Is all I'm saying.
A former sniper in the US military killed four people, including a woman and her three-month-old baby boy in her arms, before surrendering to police in central Florida.
The suspect, identified as Bryan Riley, 33, also wounded an 11-year-old girl who underwent surgery for seven gunshot injuries, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told a news conference on Sunday.

“It would have been nice if he would have come out with a gun … We would have shot him up a lot. But he didn’t because he was a coward,” Judd said. “When someone chooses to give up, we take them into custody peacefully.”
But the lone suspect, described as a Black male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, quickly fled.
People get shot in the Bronx all the time. I’m not surprised,” she said. “There is killings going on all the time.

Suspect in Florida quadruple homicide falsely believed he was saving sex-trafficking victim, police say
Ain't it great that crazy people are allowed to have guns?
(I see this has been reported already, but I guess the new info is the suspect's motive: he thought that there was an imaginary sex-trafficking victim.)
Bryan Riley, 33, ambushed the family by first conducting a pre-dawn “reconnaissance” on Sunday at the home in Lakeland, about 40 miles east of Tampa. ...
Riley eventually shot his way into the home while carrying multiple firearms and wearing a bullet-proof vest, before he systematically killed the victims, who were asleep only moments before, Judd said during a news conference.
Police said prior to entering the home where he shot the victims, he staked out the scene and set two vehicles on fire as a diversion. He also laid out glow sticks leading to a path to the home, in what officials have said may have been an attempt to draw officers into an ambush.
Once in the home, Riley “tortured” an 11-year-old girl by shooting her multiple times after she was unable to tell him where Amber was, Judd said. Despite being shot several times, the girl survived and spoke with police about her terrifying encounter.
“He counted down and said ‘3, 2, 1,’” before shooting the girl, Judd said. The girl recalled being shot at least two more times. As the girl was bleeding and in distress, Riley asked her if she knew why he had to kill her parents, Judd said. “Because they’re sex traffickers,” Judd said he told the girl.
