Guiliani Suspended from Practicing Law

While I’m glad this is happening, I remain cynical/skeptical that there will be anything I would consider significant consequences. (Being forced to retire with enough money to pretty much do anything you want to for the rest of your life doesn’t count as significant consequences in my book.) I could be wrong, in fact, I hope I’m wrong.

I expect that you are quite correct.

Even when Rudy looses his law license, then the likes of Fox News will be on the phone to him (and I expect that they already have some sort of arrangement) where Rudy will be another of their stupid, idiotic, lying spokesmen who will get paid a tidy sum.

Oh it won't. Like I said he's in his 70s what consequences are even on the table really?

The mythical "Oh he'll be the only to find show evidence of all the things we already know Trump did and his followers don't care but this time the 985th piece of evidence that proves what we already know will make a difference" thing isn't going to happen either.
It's not the evidence that is different. What's different is the fact the NY State attorney is going to use it.

Well now, this news is quite unsurprising ...

Rudy has mangaged to get himself in further trouble with the law by doing some illegal lobbying.

Justice Department targeting Rudy Giuliani with another, previously unknown investigation: Report

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is reportedly the subject of yet another Justice Department investigation, this one focusing on possible illegal lobbying he performed on behalf of Turkish clients.

Bloomberg News ran a story Tuesday claiming that the investigation, which has been underway for the past year, is focusing on Giuliani's 2017 work for Reza Zarrab and Fethullah Gulen.

...

Bloomberg's report also noted that, unlike the investigation into Giuliani's alleged work in Ukraine, the Turkey investigation does not have a "criminal" aspect.

So illegal lobbying isn't a criminal offense?

Stop dragging the horse's dead body out if you want me to stop beating it.

The Left has been living in a childish fantasy world of "The noose is tightening around Trump! Any day now!" for over 5 years now.

He admitted to Rudy being his attorney when addressing the media at one point, I know for sure. All the Presidents' Lawyers quote him at the beginning of the podcast saying so.

That quote cracks me up every time I listen to that podcast. It shows Trump speaks like an idiot who just mouths words that don't have any real meaning. The question asked was if Rudy was his attorney and Trump said he didn't know then says yeah, sure. The quote is below. To get the full effect, understand that there is no pause between the sentences "I haven't spoken to Rudy" and "I spoke to him yesterday". Two contradictory comments uttered one right after the other.

Well, I don't know. I haven't spoken to Rudy. I spoke to him yesterday briefly. He's a very good attorney and he has been my attorney, yeah, sure.

The left? All of them? Every single one? Are you sure?

It seems weird to me that Giuliani would be working for Gulen. Trump and his gangster friends seem more Erdogan-aligned, and Gulen is Erdogan's arch enemy.

ETA: Yahoo! summarized this wrong. The fight was to get Gulen back to Turkey. He's been given safe haven in the U.S. Erdogan would probably want him executed.

Gee, what changed recently, say 6 or 7 months ago that might be important here?

So illegal lobbying isn't a criminal offense?

Yes. So is everything else they do, admit, and dare us to do something about it.

Well, if I had done that your reply might have had a leg to stand on. But, as my post was only asking if illegal lobbying was a criminal offense or not in response to Crossbow's post that "... unlike the investigation into Giuliani's alleged work in Ukraine, the Turkey investigation does not have a "criminal" aspect," it doesn't. So, please lay off that poor dead horse. You've been beating it long enough.

*Shrugs* I'm sure I'll be proven wrong any day now. Any day now. Any day now.

Ya know, Joe...we are all very well aware of your feelings on this. That many of us don't agree really irritates you so you feel the need to repeat yourself endlessly every time someone posts anything remotely suggesting Trump may face charges. We get it. You don't think he will. Repeating it ad nauseum isn't going to change our minds. That's why I posted
:deadhorse

*Shrugs* And we're all aware of your and Skeptic Ginger's feelings on it as well. I'm rather confused as to what inherent right to repeat things over and over you think you two have that I don't

If every time Trump's library books go a day overdue we get the same "IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING! THIS WILL FINALLY BRING TRUMP DOWN!" attitude after he's already shrugged two impeachments and go away with an attempted Coup will continue to mock it.

Don't like it? Report me or put me on ignore. Because I'm not going to stop doing it.
