Guiliani Suspended from Practicing Law

*Shrugs* And we're all aware of your and Skeptic Ginger's feelings on it as well. I'm rather confused as to what inherent right to repeat things over and over you think you two have that I don't

If every time Trump's library books go a day overdue we get the same "IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING! THIS WILL FINALLY BRING TRUMP DOWN!" attitude after he's already shrugged two impeachments and go away with an attempted Coup will continue to mock it.

Don't like it? Report me or put me on ignore. Because I'm not going to stop doing it.

There are many more than just Skeptic Ginger's and mine. I haven't seen either her or me repeating the same damn thing ad nauseum anywhere near what you do with this.

My post that you felt compelled to reply to with what's become your signature post had nothing to do with "IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING! THIS WILL FINALLY BRING TRUMP DOWN!" Nor have I one of those who you accuse of always saying "IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING! THIS WILL FINALLY BRING TRUMP DOWN!"

Of course you're not going to stop beating that dead horse. It's your knee jerk reaction as evidenced by your use of it to my post that had nothing to do with
"IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING! THIS WILL FINALLY BRING TRUMP DOWN!"

I'm not going to report it because there's no rule against being a bore. Nor am I going to put you on ignore. When you're not raging against "IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING! THIS WILL FINALLY BRING TRUMP DOWN!" you actually have some interesting posts.

Rudy's DC license has also just been suspended.

Is that local or his license to practice at the federal level? If the latter I'd imagine that practicing in any state court would require passing a new bar exam...which would be an amazing visual.

Local in WA DC, I believe.

Social security, immigration, etc. hearings on an administrative level do not require admission to any bar at all. Caveat, a disbarment may prevent practice before these bodies. Patent practice requires admission to the Federal Patent Bar, which is nationwide. Each Federal District Court has its own bar, but admission to any state or D.C. will make admission almost a rubber stamp. U.S. Tax Court is also admissible with any state or DC license without an exam. I believe the various circuit courts of appeal and the Supreme Court may require a district court admission as a prerequisite.

DC is just a city (an important city, but, still, just a city). So, it's just DC.

This sounds confused, you might want to look this up. If he gets re-instated he won't have to retake any exam I don't think. And getting barred at the federal level wouldn't directly affect other jurisdictions. And I'm not even sure that there is one "federal" level, the Districts are independent I think.

AIUI, IANAL, BBQ, being licensed to practice in one state (which requires passing the state's bar exam) has only limited, discretionary reciprocity in other states. An attorney moving their practice to another state would have to be licensed in that state, potentially (definitely?) requiring taking the bar exam again.

Even the limited reciprocity between states would be unavailable to someone no longer licensed at home.

Not sure I'm getting your point. He has already taken the bar exam everywhere he ever needed to. Not sure why the exam is even being discussed now, it's not relevant.

1. It was a joke.
2. If his licenses are revoked, the joke is that he might have to find a "friendly" state in which to practice and he'd have to take the bar exam.
3. I guess the joke part was sufficiently terrible to inspire you.

Bump.

Giuliani could be disbarred in Washington DC.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani could be disbarred in Washington after a review panel on Friday condemned how he pursued the false claims that then-President Donald Trump made about his 2020 presidential election loss.

Giuliani “claimed massive election fraud but had no evidence,” wrote the three-member panel in a report that details the errors and unsupported claims the former mayor made in a Pennsylvania lawsuit seeking to overturn the Republican president’s loss to Democrat Joe Biden.

Giuliani has already had his New York law license suspended for false statements he made after the election. The Washington review panel’s work will now go to the D.C. Court of Appeals for a final decision.

Unscrupulous people are wasting an opportunity in not hiring Rudy and have him sign off on a number of illegal things they want someone else to take the blame for.
It's not that he is a good enough lawyer to realize what's going on, or not desperate enough to take whatever he can get, or a credible enough witness on anything.

Lin Wood is also no longer allowed to practice law:

On Tuesday, Wood asked officials in his home state of Georgia to “retire” his law license in light of “disciplinary proceedings pending against me.” In the request, made in a letter and posted on his Telegram account, Wood acknowledges that he is “prohibited from practicing law in this State and in any other state or jurisdiction and that I may not reapply for admission.”
Wood, a licensed attorney in Georgia since 1977, did not immediately respond to an email Wednesday seeking comment on the letter. A listing on the website for the State Bar of Georgia accessed on Wednesday showed him as retired and with no disciplinary infractions on his record. A spokeswoman for the Bar confirmed that the Bar had dismissed its two complaints involving Wood. In a court filing, its Office of General Counsel said it “believes that it has achieved the goals of disciplinary action, including protecting the public and the integrity of the judicial system and the legal profession” by achieving Wood’s inability to practice law.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. John Eastman is next. Unfortunately, Sidney Powell seems to have skated due to a rather bizarre judgment by Judge Andrea Bouressa who heard the case for disbarment brought by the Texas state bar. Bouressa, a Republican, was appointed by Gov. Greg Abbott.

Rudy's legal problems keep piling up. Not only is he about to be disbarred in DC. Probably indicted in Georgia. He is about to have a default judgment in the defamation case against him by two elections workers in Georgia. Like Alex Jones he did not cooperate in the discovery process.

It's posts like this where I feel that the "oh dear how sad nevermind" gif would be my response if it were available.

The fact the alt-right wants to keep a lawyer like Powell active with all her mentally ill beliefs might just be bad for them, not a good thing.

Trump's got to get lawyers from somewhere! Apparently, he's looking at hiring the firm "Scrape, Bottom and Barrel".

And yet despite having poor legal representation, he still hasn't faced any repercussions. His trials are paused and judgements continue to be unpaid.

I wouldn't say being convicted of sexual abuse in a civil case and being indicted in two felony cases with a third likely in about a month 'not facing any repercussions'. There are also multiple civil lawsuits filed against Trump stemming from Jan. 6 and, perhaps, criminal ones coming.

He may have had a judgement against him in the sexual harassment case but he's appealing the result and hasn't had to pay the damages yet.

He may be indicted in the felony cases but his lifestyle hasn't been affected one jot.

Until he spends time in jail and/or has to pay a real fine out of his own pocket, he continues to avoid repercussions.
