Biden is not the slickest public speaker. But he never has been. Obama spoke in complete, fully punctuated paragraphs. But compared to Trump, or even George W. Bush, Biden is Cicero.

I'm a speech junkie. I had a collection of JFK speeches and other great recorded speeches by the time I was 15. I was on the Debate and Speech team. I love great oratory. But outside of JFK, Bill Clinton, Reagan and Obama most Presidents were not that great at it.

Biden isn't as good as any of those 4. But I thought Biden was really great at being human. Easily likeable. He reminded me of a bit like FDR. (Cadence is totally different) But FDR's speeches had a homespun quality to them....although FDR was never that guy. Biden came across as your kindly neighbor. Impossible to hate. I think he's hard to demonize.

Definitely they didn't watch it. I overheard one person say that they couldn't hardly watch it, and I know why---they'd already made up their minds about how it was going to go and couldn't risk having their respected talking heads favorite target for contempt completely shatter their worldview by not matching their description.
 
Worthy of ignoring. From now until the GOP is back in power we can expect all sorts of crap flung against the wall (repeatedly) as they flail around trying to find something that sticks.

I have found that there are quite a few Trump supporters who actually do dislike many things about Trump. They know full well that Trump is a liar, a sex abuser, a cheater, and a dirty, greedy, no good bastard.

However, these same people hate Democrats far more than they dislike Trump.

As as a result, they are quite willing to set aside their various Trump aspersions in order to destroy the hated Democrats, and this one photo does an excellent job of showing the principal at work.

I remember watching with sadness the funeral of Hillary Clinton in 2016. If you recall she was on her deathbed when she was campaigning and lots of her opponents claimed it was cruel the way she was being forced to campaign when she was at death’s door…..

And they don't even get that, even if we believed their "He wasn't serious" lie (he was completely serious), we'd still think this was a problem, because the alleged president of the United States should not be making stupid jokes on national TV during an update on the biggest health crisis of our lives.

It is one thing to prefer him as your candidate of choice, but to not even recognize that he has always been a liar, that this wasn't a one-off but rather one of many examples of the sort of man Biden is, well, that's just choosing to be a rube.

Well, first because it's such a trivial claim for all human beigns that it's not very relevant. Also, that you can show he lied 30 odd years ago doesn't really support your claim. I'd be like showing a picture of Biden as a toddler to show that he eats his boogers.

Remember one of the very few honest things Trump said? That he loved the poorly educated? That's the tagline for the entire GOP since the Civil Rights era. The less informed your voters are, the more likely they are to believe what you say because they lack the faculties required to check your claims against reality.

It's no coincidence, and no surprise, that repressive regimes always go for the intellectuals first. And no coincidence that this often means going after Jews.
