How do pagans celebrate Christmas?

Hey Stephen! I didn't officially welcome you to the forum.

Welcome!

I wholeheartedly agree with you.

Thank you sir, I enjoy your posts too!

It's always nice to get a message from a titanium superhero!

BTW, I gave up eating Christians when I went vegan, but for the really extreme Fundamentalist ones I suggest soaking in brine for a day or two, then deep frying them in peanut oil. Watch your cholestorol though, and don't eat the brains or you might get a prion-induced wasting disorder.

You know - I ought to hate everybody here!

When I get into work (um... please don't tell anybody I do this at work - pretty please?) I check the forum and find that you've all said all the good, clever things that I want to say!

However, maybe I'll take a leaf out of KK's book and forgive you all - I'll just hate time zones!

YBW

:dl:

I usually make a pan gravy, so I can't deep fry. But I should try it

So when she says that she's going to reasearch my questions asking her to show which founding fathers were christian, and where in the constitution it says it's based on god or the bible, that's where she runs to to ask?

Figures.

She probably runs there to ask for counterpoint arguments to the rest of what we ask of her.
No Fowlsound I said I would try to get back to you but feel if you really wanted to know that answer you could find it a lot faster yourself. There are many Christians in American History that influenced our government. The problem is much of the history has been edited to the point you might have trouble finding those statements that refer to things like "In God We Trust."
Problem now is people want to even take this statement off our US Money!! Guess what if you hurry I'm sure you can find that written on our currency. Better hurry while there is still evidence for that.
I think it's terribly wrong. And I also feel people who don't believe in God are setting themselves up for eternal damnation!

What? You mean the evidence that says that IGWT was put on the money turn of last century?

Enquiring minds want to know. Let me tell you, I positively SLAVED over that. Looking on the Treasury Website for that info darn near exhausted me.

ETA: In case you haven't guessed, I'm one of those that would like it of the money. You might have guessed, but I thought I'd make it clear.

I don't think the bible needs the help of science when it comes to contradiction.
Hey rharbers, guess I could elaborate a bit on that statement. Sometimes I'm in a hurry and don't go into enough detail so let me try to say it a bit more clearly.... I believe there is much bad science and theory being taught out there. Not that all science is bad? But I will never buy into evolution! And I resent the fact that it is being taught to my children in public schools. In the beginning God created... Anyone who would like some more good evidence from lots of other scientists who believe the word of God is true and that the Bible prooves God created can go check out...Ken Ham's website called Answers In Genesis. I am hoping others here might be a bit more open to hear from other experts that are Christians.

KK, STFU. Creationism isn't science. Now go be like jesus and hang out somewhere else.

Kathy... do you know when the phrase "In God We Trust" became a national motto or when/why it first began to appear on our currency? Look hard... it was different dates and for different reasons... an additional question... how long has the "under God" bit been in the Pledge of Allegiance? And what were the reasons for it's inclusion?

If you want some homework... try reading the real schnizznit this country stands on: the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States... while you're at it... research the founding fathers' religious beliefs... we've even got a thread about it HERE

Now why would you want that? Seems somewhat rediculous to me! But it just reminds me that after the second coming of Jesus when the church is raptured...how easy it will be for people to follow the anti-christ. The one thing that really concerns me is when the Holy Spirit goes with us? It's gona get worse on this planet. All are like sheep being led to the slaughter! I have to say something here to you...If you are not choosing God, you are automatically serving the other guy!

More clear? Have you READ the book?

Ok, Genesis:
2 Creation myths in there.
Lot's daughters. Twice, actually. Once given to a mob to molest, though they declined, and secondly when they get ole Dad drunk and get preggers by him.
Which is reminicent of Judges, when the mob does gang-rape the concubine, then her hubby slices her to pieces for her infidelity...after he gave her to the mob in the first place! But men are never wrong inthe Bible, so we'll pass that one.

On other notes: David sends his best bud to the field so he can screw his buddy's wife.

Murder, Genocide, Rape, etc.

Have you read this book, not-so-kurious kathy?

Why? It's still a free country isn't it? And of course let's not forget about freedom of speech!
I fear no man, just God!!

Kathy, if there is a GOD and if he's anything like the one I learned about in my youth... be afraid.

EDIT: Oh, and please... could you point us to the latest scientific data that the creationists/IDists have compiled, the latest research they've conducted... we here just luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuvvvvvvvv that data stuff.

Waiting...

Any deity that causes his creations to constantly live in fear of his wrath is one deity not worthy of worship in my book.

Can't you understand there is a lesson in all of that? God cares more about our charactor than our comfort...and many were made an example for us to learn from. David blew it and was punished for what he did. And Lot's daughters took it upon themselves to do the wrong thing. God never said that was Ok.

Some people just don't like you, I would wager many on the board don't. That's why. The only reason you fear no man is because you aren't in a bad situation right now. Oh, and freedom of speech is not a christian value, why do you cherish it?
