Per the article, it is in Antrim County which went approx. 10k to 6k for Trump. Massive fraud! Give Biden the votes the system stole from him!!!!!

For that matter, if there were fake ballots, what, exactly would prevent the people doing the faking from folding them, assuming the highly unlike proposition that fake could be distinguished from real by whether they are folded or not?

As with most conspiracy theories, we have to assume that the people perpetrating the conspiracy were both smart enough to introduce tens or hundreds of thousands of fake ballots without getting caught, yet dumb enough to neglect critical details like folding them.

Particularly when you consider that there are commercial mass-mailing machines available, that will fold a flyer, insert it into an envelope, and seal the envelope. Any conspiracy large enough to seriously consider faking a US election could certainly afford such, and a place to keep it out of sight.

Ah, so she was thinking it was free publicity. Somehow in keeping with the whole clownshow.

I think two things were happening.

Firstly individual idiots, with no assets to settle defamation suits, came forward to obtain publicity, with the hope that legal actions would only be taken against people and corporations with assets.

Secondly, I believe that news directors at right wing based outlets thought there would be more substance to Kraken lawsuits and cleared future airtime. When the substance didn't materialise, they asked the news content managers to find something to fill airtime and thus the idiots with no assets got some attention.

It's like when someone famous dies and people come out of the woodwork claiming they were secret lovers of that person.

I'm pretty sure it's not Kanye and his 12 State, ~6000 vote "Loser Tour".
But I can't even name the Ind/3rd Party candidates, so... what's the answer?

What I was referring to was that only electoral votes actually count, so the question was whether there would be any faithless electors. There were none, so the answer is "no one".

That's so yesterday.

Today it's all about pointing out the ingestion of the vote in Congress on January 6. Nothing is "really official" until then, apparently.

Whether or not it is checked this time, it would prevent future bogus 'mailed' ballots.

You can't believe that. Really. If someone wants to cast illegal votes they will duplicate real ballots, including the fold. I'm ashamed to have to even type that.

What I don't get is why early, absentee and/or mail-in in voting is such a controversy in 'Merica. No other western democracy has any issue with it. In UK, Australia and New Zealand we have near zero problems, and it has been used for many years in most of them. It isn't even a political topic of discussion (I don't know about Canada, but I don't think they have issues either)

The only think I can think of is that Republicans hate it because

a. it allows more people to vote, leading to higher turnout, and
b. early, mail-in and absentee votes tend to favour Democrats

Both of which would make it less likely that Republicans would win.

And yet, this election showed that that's not necessarily true, given how the House and Senate races turned out.

Hey, get real. Unfolded, folded, whatever, is totally irrelevant.

Mail-in votes are legal. So of course, there are procedures to verify them. NOBODY would pass laws to allow them without it. After all, it could hit yourself.

Hans

Unfolded mail-in ballots could be perfectly legitimate. Bubba, why do you completely ignore obvious possibilities?

Are you sure??

The guy said the mail in ballots are sent to voters after being mechanically folded and rolled, which leaves a sharp crease.

Unlike squinting at hanging chads, the automated forensic process identifies creased or not creased ballots.

No crease, no cigar.

Sounds like a simple way to verify

Ill-considered, or deliberate?

A clever plan - use voting machines that can't be verified, then claim election fraud! And it would have worked too, if hadn't been for those damn judges!

Mmm. Ill-considered from the perspective of him doing his official job well. Given Georgia Republicans, deliberate would more suggest corrupt dealings with Dominion or having chosen the machines with the expectation of being able to... fudge the results in an effectively undetectable way. Just do it by a couple % in heavily Democratic areas and that can raise the chances of holding power immensely. Sorta like what looks like might have happened in a downballot race in 2018.

Just to poke at this a little tangentially...

Wisconsin Supreme Court upholds Biden's win, rejects Trump lawsuit

In a 4-3 decision. As a reminder about what was in play -

Trump sought to throw out more than 220,000 ballots cast in Milwaukee and Dane counties, the state's most populous and most Democratic areas. He wanted to let stand ballots that were cast the same way in the state's 70 other counties.

Trump attorney Jim Troupis contended clerks had broken the law by filling in the addresses of witnesses on absentee ballot envelopes. With the support of Republicans, the state Elections Commission four years ago told clerks they could do that if they were able to confirm the addresses.

And 3 out of the 4 Wisconsin "Republicans" backed that partisan absurdity up, by the look of it.

*points at how absurdly sloppy and incompetent the Trumpublicans have been proving themselves to be for the past four years in response*

Broadly speaking, it's not. Or rather, wasn't. The controversy has been manufactured.

The only think I can think of is that Republicans hate it because

a. it allows more people to vote, leading to higher turnout, and
b. early, mail-in and absentee votes tend to favour Democrats

It's a bit more complicated than that. But then, take Ohio as a reference. IIRC, in a good move a number of years ago, Ohio expanded early and mail-in voting to something decent. After an election or two had passed, they had decent data about who was more likely to use different methods - and Ohio Republicans cracked down hard on early in-person voting, because Democrats were much more likely to use that method. Republicans were more likely to use mail-in ballots, so that was unchanged.

To be clear about the recent controversy, all one needs to do to understand it is to note that Democrats take Covid-19 much more seriously than Republicans, overall, and thus utilized mail-in voting much more than usual this year. Add to that the part where the Republican propagandist ringleaders seemed to have no problem at all with trying to promote mail-in voting where they thought that it would be a net positive for them and that's plenty telling about how principled their stance has been.

Yeah, automatically folding paper is a technology far beyond the means of a conspiracy to steal the Election involving millions of Americans, Democrats and Republicans alike.

Sooooo....the bloke who sells pirate maps, told you that mail-in ballots are all folded in exactly the same way? Can you show us a photo of this amazing fold?

....and you claim this fold is impossible to fake....because....?

That's right Bubba. No forging political enterprise is going to spend the enormous amount of $159.99 to buy an adjustable mass volume paper folding and scoring machine.

(Bubba and his pirate friend, obviously don't get local newspapers with advertising inserts)

This is BIG NEWS. Dominion Voting Machines are a disaster all over the Country. Changed the results of a landslide election. Can’t let this happen. Thank you for the genius, bravery, and patriotism of the Judge. Should get a medal!

Dominion Voting Systems are also used in Clark County, Nevada.
Clark County, Nevada election officials also *HAPPENED* to report an error scanning "ABOUT 70% OF BALLOTS".

TX's presidential electors voted 34-4 to "condemn" the Supreme Court rejecting TX's election lawsuit against PA, WI, GA & MI & called for the state legislatures of those states to "convene and appoint their electors in accordance with the true constitutional vote of the people.."

TX presidential electors cast all 38 votes for Trump & Pence... they also voted to "condemn" SCOTUS tossing out TX election lawsuit. #txlege

Reading all these Trump tweets, may I dare suggest that this Opinion in the WSJ by Mulvaney was a little bit wrong?

No candidate has ever won both Florida and Ohio and lost. I won them both, by a lot! #SupremeCourt

We will soon be learning about the word “courage”, and saving our Country. I received hundreds of thousands of legal votes more, in all of the Swing States, than did my opponent. ALL Data taken after the vote says that it was impossible for me to lose, unless FIXED!

Ah, xkcd. Up until 1796 no US presidential candidate with their own teeth won...
