Trump is going to tell his supporters to boycott the election when he loses this afternoon in the EC vote. I'm giddy with anticipation.

A clever plan - use voting machines that can't be verified, then claim election fraud! And it would have worked too, if hadn't been for those damn judges!

Today we learn the answer to the question we have all been waiting for. Who will be named in trivia questions for the next four years as the candidate coming in third place in the 2020 elections? (For the 2016 election, the answer is Colin Powell, with three electoral votes.)

Hey, get real. Unfolded, folded, whatever, is totally irrelevant.

Mail-in votes are legal. So of course, there are procedures to verify them. NOBODY would pass laws to allow them without it. After all, it could hit yourself.

Dead people WILL vote. Simply because statistically, a number of people will die in the time (months) passing between printing envelopes and the day of the election. So there is a procedure to check some voter's register to see if the voter is still alive, before a mailed-in ballot is accepted for counting.

Some people WILL try to vote on ballots not their own. So, there is a procedure to ensure that people don't vote more than once (necessary for in-person votes as well).

Sure, mistakes happen, and false votes may slip by (or even be allowed to slip by), but to swing an election that way is impossible. If somebody tried to swamp the election with false votes, in hopes that enough would slip in, in this case, millions of false votes would have been detected and rejected, for enough to slip by. It would have been obvious to everybody that something was afoot.

For that matter, if there were fake ballots, what, exactly would prevent the people doing the faking from folding them, assuming the highly unlike proposition that fake could be distinguished from real by whether they are folded or not?

As with most conspiracy theories, we have to assume that the people perpetrating the conspiracy were both smart enough to introduce tens or hundreds of thousands of fake ballots without getting caught, yet dumb enough to neglect critical details like folding them. Since down-ballot Republicans did quite well in most of the states Trump is contesting, we also have to assume that the people faking the ballots put votes for Republicans other than Trump on those ballots.

Yeah, this one is just weird. It's really news from Wednesday, November 4.

Just in case you missed it, what happened is that in the initial count, Biden was reported with a large lead in that county, which immediately caught everyone's attention, and they went back and found the error and reported the correct results.

Shortly after the election, I read that in the first count, an incorrect software version was being used on the tabulating machines, and was giving wrong results. The software was upgraded and everything worked fine. Later I read that that was just a rumor, that what actually happened was that someone doing data entry made a typographical error, and the wrong vote total was reported.

Either way, it's a non-story. It wasn't massive fraud. It wasn't any fraud. It was a mistake that was caught almost immediately, and corrected.

The story linked in the original Tweet even calls it "a mistake both county and state officials have attributed to an error the Republican clerk made when updating ballot information."

But I can't even name the Ind/3rd Party candidates, so... what's the answer?
