Maricopa County, Arizona completed the audit requested by GOP December 4 without much news coverage.
Under the lawsuit, the GOP was allowed to audit 100 absentee ballots, 100 absentee signatures, and 100 duplicated ballots. This was done in the presence of counsel for both sides (and I think a state election official).
The GOP found no errors with the 100 absentee ballots.
The signatures were reviewed by expert signature analysts by both sides. The Defendant's examiners found no signature mismatches but did find that 11 were not able to be confirmed because there were not enough signature samples available for the votes to be able to verify a match under the standards for expert verification. The GOP examiners found 6 signatures to be inconclusive, but found no sign of forgery or simulation.
There were 2 errors found in the duplicated ballots. One would switch a vote from Biden to Trump and the other would give Trump a vote not counted.
As a result of those errors, Maricopa County released another 2,500 duplicated ballots for review. They completed a review of 1,526 ballots before the court hearings resumed. Those ballots showed another 7 errors, which would have given 5 votes to Trump and 2 to Biden.
If that was statistically extended to all 27,869 duplicate ballots, it would have given Trump about another 130 votes, far short of the 10,457 votes needed to overturn the election. There would have needed to be a error rate of at least 18%, far more than the rate of 0.55% found in the audit.
Reviewing this evidence and other evidence related to claims made in the case, the court found no illegal votes and "no misconduct, no fraud, and no effect on the outcome of the election".
