He was big in the 60s. You have to be of that era to remember those songs or somehow stumble on him. I remembered the song today because the arithmetic the GOP is using is just as convoluted. Not sure who the Chad Mitchell Trio is though. Guess I need to Google it.

:faint:

A right wing bias can exist even if the stories they report on are completely accurate. The choice of which stories to carry is equally important. If it's raining outside but they accurately report on topic X, you might not know about the rain. That's the problem that I see with the right wing bubble; there's just no other source that is consumed by the goobers so that's all they know.

I agree but that seriously understates the partisan dishonesty on Fox.

How, exactly?

When the MSM (sans Fox) reports almost exclusively that Trump's coup will never materialize. They are already consistently labeling it false when they report on any of Trump's efforts to file lawsuits or influence any state legislators/governors to steal electors.

Giuliani's display today garnered a lot of coverage of his dripping hair color and it got no major reporting (sans Fox) that his charges were anything other than recycled crap the courts already rejected.

They are already consistently reporting on the upcoming Biden Presidency.

It's just one more step to consistently noting Trump is going, it's just a matter of when. There have been hints.

Getting closer.

Biden's lead nationwide is getting ever so close to 6 million votes.

Biden: 79,688,463

Trump: 73,704,710

5,983,753

Dave Wasserman, Editor of the Cook Political Report states that the winning margin when the official tallies are completed is likely to be more than 7 million votes.

We have a mainstream media entity--Fox--which is, what, the biggest player in the US?

Hard to say, exactly, for that wording. It's the biggest TV 'news' channel for Republicans. The direct viewer count is significantly less than CNN, NBC, and the like, IIRC, though. Fox's reach massively increases via the internet, though, and I'm not certain how comparable that makes its reach compared to CNN, NBC, and the like. On the Trump front, of course, Trump is very disproportionately influenced by Fox compared to the others.

Seconded.

NEW: The Trump campaign is seeking to withdraw its Michigan election lawsuit, saying the litigation achieved its goal of derailing the certification of election results in Detroit and surrounding Wayne County https://trib.al/swlw8Hv
He didn't say that to Stormy Daniels... ;)

Yep and he's incredibly incompetent as are his latest crew of bungling idiots.

I'm not sure who you are referring to.

Some people have been outraged. Biden is playing it as 'hey I'm going to be POTUS and Trump is an embarrassment'. That is the right way to play it.

I believe some people felt McConnell was just humoring Trump. I have no idea what he was doing.

Today the majority of the larger news networks have increased calling Trump's efforts essentially pathetic: Trump's attempts to change state electors is a fail. There's nothing left. Only Fox has deviated slightly.

Waters were tested. They failed. I'm right to move on.

As for the 'bigger thing', yep it's a CT that will endure into infinity. Seriously.

In the meantime the EC votes and the election will be certified. And leaks from people around Trump (who is hiding out BTW and not leading his troops into battle) are saying he will accept the outcome once the election is certified, or at least he will give up.

And yes, the CT and all those crazies do need to be addressed. I just believe it is time to divorce the 'OMG he could get away with it' from 'crap, what a mess this is going to be for months or years to come.'

THIS TIME the plunge into darkness would seem to have been avoided. So yeah, put out for public consumption the pathetic, embarrassing twisting of a crew of incompetent losers. But do not ever let down your guard. An ominous twilight looms, and the reckoning is only delayed. The angst over Nixon's ouster, and now the fury over Trump's losing will keep the ground well prepared for a future strong saviour. Competent swindlers will arise, and would be much more likely to succeed.

This in a nutshell demonstrates the Republicans respect for democracy.

The Trump campaign did score a modest win in Pennsylvania on Thursday evening as a state appeals court panel ruled, 2-1, in favor of a Republican candidate’s bid to disqualify 2,349 mail-in ballots in the Pittsburgh area that lacked a date next to the voter’s signature.

That ruling could be appealed further to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. If upheld, it could lower Biden’s vote total, but doesn’t seem like a path for Trump to overcome the roughly 81,000-vote lead that Biden has in the state.

This is one of the reasons I despise the GOP. This is a minor technicality they used to disenfranchise 2,349 voters.

Also, looks like Fox/the RW propaganda machine is already trying to conjure the appearance of corruption when it comes to a Biden charity.

A Statement from Four Seasons (seen on twitter)

Rudy, you better damn well tell everyone you didn’t get that creosote here!
Four Seasons creosote: dry to the touch in 30 minutes!

Wait. A. Minute. Either:
A) that's not Rudy, or
b) he's using Trump's orange goo and dyed his hair dark.

I'm leaning toward B.

Why's he sweating so much anyway? Has he got Covid? And why are people standing so close to him?

This is what makes these clowns dangerous. They are supposed to be dealing with more important issues than their Clown Prince's ego.

That's the problem that I see with the right wing bubble; there's just no other source that is consumed by the goobers so that's all they know.

I wrote a post about this near the start of the De-trumpification thread.

As I see it this is the biggest problem we face in the near future. Not just the US but in every democracy.

In order for us to move forward, to enact legislation, to solve the problems we are faced with we need to talk with and compromise with the "other side".

Politics is supposed to be the art of compromising and making deals to benefit the people represented. (Instead it has morphed into getting and staying elected, but that's a tangent)

In order to come to a compromise both sides must be using the same set of objective facts to base their arguments on.

If one side is only getting their information from one single source like Fox, or OAN or Breitbart or wherever, then that is all that they know and it's very difficult to talk with people about something when they only have a fraction of the whole story.
