The issue is, that a political leader of one of the main parties is seriously talking about a coup.
And instead of the reaction in that party being something like 'Who do you think you are?!', the reaction is more of 'ah, it's just him being him'.

The latter is the part that's notably more concerning, overall.

Trump doesn't work in a vacuum, like you seem to pretend he does, but is part of something bigger.
And that bigger part, the party, does seem to test the waters to see whether this, the coup, is doable. At least they're more than prepared to let Trump test the waters, instead of going out against the concept of a coup.

Reminds me a bit of the time that some of the Republicans managed to get remarkably close to engaging in a pro-Nazi coup - luckily the general they approached in the end wasn't sympathetic to their plans. After it was discovered and rooted out, it was ridiculed... but that it got as far as it did was very problematic in and of itself.

Fox News, the actual news part is usually reasonably accurate. The news is covered by all of the media so they tend to stick to the accepted facts for their news bulletins. Every so often you'll see something like Fox calling Arizona for Biden for example.

Reasonably so, sure. However, it's worth pointing out that they have a long history of slipping in partisan lies and misrepresentations even into the "news" part.

All Fox cares about is market share and making money. No more, no less. Like them or not they are certainly very good at that.

Yes, more. At last check, the projections were that they could optimally make a fair bit more money than they do, if their focus wasn't more on optimally shifting votes towards Republicans and getting the Republican vote out.

They have a big market share because they pander to the right wing nut job market share that noone else wants to go for.

There are a number of organizations that are sure trying. Breitbart and OAN, among others.

In dramatic reversal, Wayne County election board Republicans rescind votes certifying results
In affidavits, GOP canvass board members claim they were bullied and say there are too many irregularities in Detroit vote to justify accepting election results.

The kind of irregularities that were presented to court and very quickly dismissed as being the stuff of incredible stupidity less than a week ago?

I'd agree with that.

Their "news" is usually accurate, but not entirely. If they told me it was raining, I'd go look for myself rather than trust them.

While there are plenty of plenty of right wing nut job news channels, none have made it out of the alternative media yet. Not for a lack of trying mind you.

While you spin your wheels in the tediousness of defining what is is, Trump's path to a coup or an election reversal has become less and less likely.

Does it count if Trump is actually just drumming up an audience for his new right-wing talk show?

Yes, just like it counted when the MAGA bomber couldn't build a working bomb. Was his conviction a travesty of justice because of his total incompetence?

And with these numbers, by far the highest for a sitting President, there was no way the Dems could have won, except through what we are learning now - A Rigged Election!

Important News Conference today by lawyers on a very clear and viable path to victory. Pieces are very nicely falling into place. RNC at 12:00 P.M.

At what point can we stop worrying Biden won't be sworn in on Jan 20?

That’s easy. In this topsy turvy world, we can rest when Biden’s hand is actually on the Bible and he’s taking the oath.

Even then, can we preclude a “counter-inaugural”? Trump scheduling a swearing in with a different Supreme Court Justice, maybe even in the Oval Office?

Absurd, right? But I’m just about to the point that I’m not ruling anything out.

Thousands of uncounted votes discovered in Georgia counties. When the much more important signature match takes place, the State will flip Republican, and very quickly. Get it done! @BrianKempGA

27 lawsuits 27 losses

Darn it, no. We need to be fair. They have won 1 case. That was the case that cut the deadline for allowing mail-in voters to cure their ballots from Nov 12 to Nov 9.

It applied to all the mail-in votes that 1) had errors in them, 2) that had not been corrected by Nov 9, and 3) the voter still wanted to fix the error. All 5 of them.

But to be fair, it was a case that they won.

FoxNew's whole tactic has been discussed at length before.

It's "Commentators" (which hides behind the label of "entertainment" so they aren't held to the legal standards news reporters or even traditional commentators are) just... make stuff up.

Then it's actual News people report on the "controversy" that their commentators created.

- At 1 in the afternoon a show will air on FoxNews. One of the "Commentators" will just go... "Does President John G. Democrat spend his weekends beating kittens to death with Bibles wrapped in a burning America flag? Some people think so..." They are masters at the phrasing. They make no claim, only vague allusions to things they have "heard about." Then then sit back and wait.

- At about 3 in the afternoon Fox tells some intern to go on social media and collect a bunch of screenshots from angry conservatives about President John G. Democrat and the allegations of him burning flag bible kitten murdering.

- And then on the evening news the actual news report goes "The public is demanding answers as to allegations that President John G. Democrat beats kittens to death with a stack of bibles wrapping in a burning American flag. Why won't the President answer this allegations? What does he have to hide? America deserves answers!" and that point the "news" is self sustaining and they just can just run with it.

They have become absolute masters of doing this, using the internet to basically "Truth Launder" something.

It's "Commentators" (which hides behind the label of "entertainment" so they aren't held to the legal standards news reporters or even traditional commentators are) ...

It is a myth that cable news (or any other) needs to classify itself or any part of itself as "entertainment" or "news". There is no such official distinction, nor legal consequence for failing to fall within them.

That may be a valid MARKETING strategy, but there are no legal stakes.
