Illuminator
Personally, I'm inclined to believe that he has no plan, short term or long term.
I think his primary motivation is no deeper than, he's a dick.

At what point can we stop worrying Biden won't be sworn in on Jan 20?Clearly.
Fortunately the EC margin is so large that it's not feasible to steal. If one state would flip it, I'd be freaking out, and with good cause.
After all, 4 1/2 years ago it was unimaginable that a nominee/POTUS would collude with Russia to influence an election. It was unimaginable that a POTUS would lean on the leader of a foreign country to manufacture dirt about a political opponent. It was unimaginable that a POTUS would attempt to overturn an election. It was unimaginable that a POTUS would support right wing nut cases who plotted to kidnap a governor and try her in the woods. And it was also unimaginable a political party would blithely play along.
The "it can't happen here" malarkey that phoney balony high horse centrists foist is (1) quaint and (2) fact-deprived.
While you spin your wheels in the tediousness of defining what is is, Trump's path to a coup or an election reversal has become less and less likely.
Does it count if Trump is actually just drumming up an audience for his new right-wing talk show?
Yep.Something like this, I think. He's essentially recycling baseless claims he made in 2012 as support for the baseless claims he's making today. Only Trump would think that was a valid approach; only having the sort of mindless base whose first and only reflex is to snap at whatever chum he throws in the water for them enables him to use it.
Sorry if anyone think this sounds harsh, but I'm getting really ******* tired of this idiot and the way he stirs **** and his galumphing base just begs for more, as if it's some gourmet treat the rest of us are obtusely missing out on.

Yep.
I was thinking about this today listening to the media go on with the latest version of the **** show. And what came to mind was all the times the press treated this guy as if he were a normal human being. Remember when they kept saying, "he's going to act Presidential now." What idiots. And yet, here they are again, letting him lead them around by the nose with all this nonsense.
Come on news media, treat this guy like the loser he is, not like some genius who is going to carry out a coup or start a civil war.
His followers are dangerous. But he's a loser.![]()
The right wing media, including the mainstream media, continues to push a stolen election and how righteous a remedy a coup would be ....

They can try to delay certifying MI votes but it's not like the Democrats aren't pushing back.Aric Nesbitt Senate President Pro Tempore tweeted
@aricnesbitt
This afternoon, I joined my colleagues in calling for a full, independent audit of the recent election prior to the certification of results. We have seen a number of allegations that range from outright fraud, if true, to terrible mistakes that need to be corrected.
Sensing that Republicans might play politics with the certification, Representatives Debbie Dingell and Rashida Tlaib, two Democrats from metro Detroit, started making calls around 1:30 p.m., urging Democrats to join the Wayne County Board of Canvassers meeting to ensure that the election results would actually be certified. Requests to join the Zoom call quickly went beyond capacity, with 300 people on the digital meeting when it started around 4:45 p.m.
After the first 2-to-2 vote, all of those participants stayed and the board opened up the meeting to public comment. A broad coalition — Detroit voters, clergy members, Middle Eastern immigrants, Black women, environmentalists, civil rights leaders and people who had worked at the polls and the absentee voting center — spoke out on the deadlock, repeatedly calling the Republican members racist and saying they were trying to disenfranchise Detroit voters. ...
The video call went mute for about five minutes at roughly 9 p.m., after about three hours of angry commentary by people dialing into the meeting. When the board came back, its members informed the crowd that they had just voted unanimously to certify the results and ordered Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson to conduct a thorough audit of the Wayne County results, especially the precincts with disparities. They didn’t explain how the reversal had come about. ...
The state board is supposed to certify its results on Nov. 23. But Christopher Thomas, an adviser to the Detroit city clerk, said that the state would have until mid-December to submit its tallies to the Electoral College, which he said was plenty of time, even if the state board deadlocks, which would most likely force the fight into the courts.
“When they deadlock, the court generally tells them, ‘Your job is ministerial,’ which means you count the votes,” he said, “and you publish the certified results.”
They can try to delay certifying MI votes but it's not like the Democrats aren't pushing back.
Democrats acted starting with the attempt to block certification of Wayne County:
NYT: Michigan Republicans Backtrack After Refusing to Certify Election Results This was how the two Republicans blocking certification changed their votes.

When he concedes, congratulates Biden and shuffles off....

Rudy filed a motion to yet again amend his complaint for the Pennsylvania case. His motion asks to be allowed to file a "Second Amendment Complaint". He obviously meant a Second Amended Complaint. Maybe.
That's pretty much what I think. The question, and I'm being serious about this, is whether he is insane, or just an *******.
In other words, does he actually believe that he might win this? If so, he's insane. If he doesn't think he's going to win this, but is just doing this because he can, then he's an *******.
For his followers, I would add another option, which is stupid. They could really believe that he could win, just because they don't have the knowledge and/or intelligence to reason it through, so they just go with a trusted authority figure, and that trusted authority figure is the soon to be ex-President. That's stupid, but relatively normal.
I don't think that's an option I would give the President, though. While he could be that stupid, everyone around him couldn't be. If he seeks information, he has better access to it than anyone in the world. If he seeks it, receives it, and declares that it's all wrong, then that's just his narcissism, but of such an extreme sort that it's actually a mental illness.
So, crazy or evil? i can't tell the difference from here. And of course it could be a false dichotomy.
Fair warning: if the next Trump administration is anything like the last it may be rough for the first few months, but then it will get really bad.
I'll have to see an example or two of "mainstream media" pushing a stolen election and, especially, pushing a coup before I'll buy that.. I'll even let you define "mainstream media".
