Biden campaign bus almost forced off road by group of Trump supporters

The associated rallies has been cancelled due to safety concerns. The chief of police reportedly blamed the Biden campaign for not alerting them ahead of time that they would be driving through the state, and the official Texas GOP response is quite something:

Abby Livingston from The Texas Tribune reached out to the RPT today and asked a question about a Biden campaign bus in her attempt to portray conservatives as violent radicals, even though it is leftists from Antifa and BLM who have been assaulting, robbing, and looting fellow citizens and their property.

Below is Chairman Allen West’s response:

“Three Trump supporters have been executed, one in Portland, one in Denver, and one Milwaukee. A leftist mob attempted to storm the house of the McCloskeys, threatened to burn their house down, rape Mrs. McCloskey, and then kill them both.

Where is the liberal corporate media’s concern about that real violence? Additionally, none of what your question implies is accurate. It is more fake news and propaganda.

Here in Denver a pro-Trump protester was killed by a security guard at a protest. The guard was not properly licensed to do the job, he's being charged. Not what I would call an "execution", but that's what the local Trumpies have been calling it.

I suspect the other two "executions" are similar - any violent death of a conservative protester is an execution, any violence by the right is therefore justified - in their minds at least.

If you Google "execution of trump supporter" you should find the killing of Aaron Danielson by Michael Reinoehl in the first or second hit. That would be the main one that I recall.

My wife has family in Rockport. It's OK there, too humid in the summer though. It's not right wing and country music crazy. Also, there was that Hurricane Harvey a couple years ago that destroyed my sister-in-law's house, but she rebuilt instead of leaving. I like visiting Rockport, but I wouldn't live there.

Wow, somebody actually dug up ye olde "struck a nerve" thing? I haven't seen anyone try that in over a decade! I thought it was because everybody who might otherwise do it had finally figured out that all it does is make the one claiming it look pitiful & desperate.

I can't say that what really happened with the Trumpers and the bus was as bad as it's being presented in some corners. I've seen it described with dramatics such as that it was an "attack" and "trying to somehow run the much larger & more massive thing that could easily push them off the road off the road" and the participants described as "armed". But the videos only show some vehicles with flags on them (no weapons in sight) cruising down the same highway in the same direction or stopping at the same stoplight, plus one brief bit of actual contact between two vehicles (neither of them the bus) with no sign of exactly how it had been caused. Some of the videos are from the participants, and even they only describe it as... moving in the same direction at the same time as the bus (while talking about how fun it is to do so), not even pretending to have actually had any effect on the bus's movements or wanting to. They just think traveling along with it for a while is making a big loud fun statement. There's been one report of one actual specific action with some slight potential for a collision (which the bus would have won), that isn't in the videos: a truck getting in front of the bus and slowing down momentarily and then resuming normal speed.

...bad behavior, and easy to perceive as threatening, and maybe illegal, but not the Mad Max battle that's getting depicted.

Congratulations. You have successfully changed the subject yet again.

However, I thought the topic from which you were deflecting was more relevant to this thread topic. The point you were deflecting from was the fact that Trump puts incompetent people in charge of various positions. If Biden becomes president, I am confident he will actually meet with his coronavirus task force, and if the people on that task force tell him things he doesn't want to hear, Biden will follow their advice anyway, instead of shutting them out and replacing them with ideologues.

That's why I'm voting for Biden.
