My view is that dems are hosed unless they do something about the courts regardless - McConnell's wrecked any pretense of them as anything other than a source of partisan hackery and ideological gibberish, so until the other two branches either pull them back into mainstream thinking or at least consistency with reality, or muzzle them altogether, there isn't much that'll get done.

(and this is what many of us were pointing out in 2016, but I digress)

I’ve suggested that before.

I also suggested that if he wins he should create an EO that says “we all agree to forget the last 4 years, and we will never mention them again”...

Is there anything that can be done about that at all right now except voting to change the president and senators? Nope. Then no point giving yourselves ulcers over that question just yet.
 
One thing President Biden could do straight away is appoint competent people willing to actually do their jobs to important government posts. That list of Trump appointees Obama listed in his recent speech was truly appalling.

There are Trump appointees and acolytes throughout the government. They have to be dealt with. Some of us hope there will be prosecutions, starting with the ten instances of obstruction of justice identified in the Mueller report. Biden will spend his entire term cleaning up the mess. White nationalist domestic terrorism will have to be a high priority. No, regrettably, we can't just wish the last four years away.
 
If Biden wins, cleaning up mess that Trump will cause in-between alone will take four years.

I don't think that would be advisable.

Some executive orders actually were rather routine government business (such as giving pay increases). Others cannot just be cancelled because reversing them needs some planning. (For example the border wall "emergency"... Well it may be easy enough to stop construction, but the government may have to adjust the funds that were skated to be taken from the military.)

Some of Trump's damage will be easy to reverse such as cancelling his stupid Tongass EO and dishwasher energy EO which haven't really been implemented yet. Others, like the border wall and his border policy are more complicated. But, as others have said, Biden's going to be spending a lot of time cleaning up Trump's mess.

A lot is going to depend on if the Senate goes blue or, if not, how much of a majority McConnell manages to keep. If he only has a one or two person majority, he may have to learn to compromise a bit more. If he keeps a larger majority, I expect him to do the same thing to Biden he did to Obama.

True. My fear is that voters, especially the "Independents/Republicans/progressives for Biden" crowd will have too high expectations for how much Biden can clean it up in four years. And given the strong likelihood that he doesn't get a second term that's quite concerning.
