Jake Tapper just did a really good hit job on Trump. He had on all the former Trump administration officials who left in disgusts as well as a few former professional officers who either retired or quit. They did a good job of savaging Trump. You should be able to watch it on "on demand".

Trouble is, it's likely no one will see it except those who already aren't going to vote for Cheeto Benito.

He won't run in 2024, although he might think he will. For one thing, he might want to avoid trying something he knows he failed at before, especially something he probably didn't even want in the first place. More importantly, even if he does still want to run again, his current deterioration rate has him either dead or mostly unable to even slosh whole words out by then, and his cultists won't stick with him in that state.

But if he does lose this time, stops deteriorating (which is probably impossible anyway), and does run again, he'll win if his opponent is Biden. The only thing saving Biden now is the virus, and in a few years, people will have forgotten about that and will only pay attention to the fact that we'll be four years into exactly the same kind of administration that produced President Trump in the first place.

Do you mean peace, prosperity and health care for all? You mean that administration? The party that won three million more votes than Trump? A lot of forces produced Trump, particularly Clinton's bizarrely inept campaign, but if Biden beats Trump this time around, it's impossible to imagine that anybody will be pining for the good old days of Orange Man in four years.

Kirstie Alley tweets

@kirstiealley
I’m voting for @realDonaldTrump because he’s NOT a politician.
....

I'll bet she goes to someone who is not a dentist to get teeth worked on. :rolleyes:

Being a politician has got to be the only job where experience is considered a liability. The thoughtless - and I mean that literally - debasement of politicians just because they are politicians is as common as it is stupid.

ETA: For example, consider this quote from ChrisBFRPKY:
But the most important reason I will vote for Trump again is because he's not a politician, he's a businessman.

Very likely, she's rather notoriously nutty.

eta: not as crazy as Randy Quaid, but crazier than Val Kilmer. That's not a good place to be on that particular spectrum.

Trump is a completely failed businessman. I guess Trumpers are in denial about that.

As for Kirstie Alley, it's awful how many celebs there are I never new were political idiots. The GOP always makes it sound like all of Hollywood are liberals. Apparently not so.

This popular vote cop out from the left on twitter getting as silly as any other bad excuse

For the last time.

The electoral college is how it's decided. Not total votes.

If you want to win, then win those states that you lost last time.

No kidding? Is that why Trump won in 2016? Thank for explaining that.
The mystery is finally solved! :rolleyes:

No, in a tie the Democrat wins because the House decides (not the Senate).
The House decides, but ...

No, because it's not a regular House vote. Each state delegation gets one vote.
Indeed.

12th amendment of the US constitution:
The Electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves; they shall name in their ballots the person voted for as President, and in distinct ballots the person voted for as Vice-President, and they shall make distinct lists of all persons voted for as President, and all persons voted for as Vice-President and of the number of votes for each, which lists they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the seat of the government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate;

The President of the Senate shall, in the presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the certificates and the votes shall then be counted;

The person having the greatest number of votes for President, shall be the President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed; and if no person have such majority, then from the persons having the highest numbers not exceeding three on the list of those voted for as President, the House of Representatives shall choose immediately, by ballot, the President. But in choosing the President, the votes shall be taken by states, the representation from each state having one vote; a quorum for this purpose shall consist of a member or members from two-thirds of the states, and a majority of all the states shall be necessary to a choice.

In practice, that means:
Yep. In a tie, the GOP probably wins.

The FiveThirtyEight Model Talk podcast talked about this.

The relevant part is 33:50:

If there is a tie, it goes to the House and the vote is based on state delegations and NOT individual Congressmembers.

https://fivethirtyeight.com/videos/...ct-the-forecast-and-other-listener-questions/

Answer is: Not clear yet, but Republicans currently have more delegations, and even though Democrats could win more delegations in the election, it would be very unlikely that they simultaneously do that, while Biden gets a tie. If it is a tie, then it would be a sign that Republicans did better than their forecast which would likely mean more delegations in the House as well.
