It's extremely important to point out the steps that were taken by President Trump early on. It's also important to note what the other side was saying about those steps early on. The difference is in lives saved versus lives lost.
I'm sure if one life was saved due to his early actions the President would consider being called "xenophobic" and "racist" a small price to pay.
I didn't really specify my own country. I'm more than happy to compare USA and EU as a whole, or even as individual countries.
And we're not talking about the whole response, are we? We're talking about how our leaders behaved. What they told us and how they treated us.
So, what other western leaders lied about and downplayed the pandemic like Trump did? I'm sure it's a hard question for you to answer.
As for your conspiracy theory, I will note that Trump was handwaving away cases numbering in the hundreds when the pandemic was ravaging Italy.
Shame you didn't learn anything from that like the rest of Europe did. You could have saved thousands of lives.
My words you quoted:
"Trump announced a restriction on all incoming travel from China, effective on February 2."
Do you see how you kinda missed the boat on this one?
But he didn't save lives. People died. A lot of people. Are still dying.
Let me know where I lost you. Or to be more accurate let me know where your troll persona is going to start pretending to get lost.
I'm sure there are masks available. If masks work then what's the issue?
President Trump has done well in an unprecedented situation.
You cannot expect the US to compete with such economic and industrial powerhouses as Viet Nam and Mongolia.Vietnam, Thailand, China, Mongolia & South Korea are not islands.

Ah, progress. And which states did not receive the PPE or ventilators they requested?
Here's the thing. From a political perspective, COVID could have been a gift to Trump. If he had risen to the task, and simply embraced the problem and showed some leadership, my guess is he might be leading in the polls instead of being down 10 to 16 points. Instead he ignored them and acted like a reckless child.
He had to demonstrate very clearly his lack of leadership.

Absolutely President Trump has saved lives. People have died and are still doing so. Trump is blameless . . .
It is you who missed the boat, as I demonstrated in post 1805. The idiot in chief implemented a policy full of holes, and allowed 40,000+ to enter the country after the "ban" he rants about so proudly. Also too, the idiot allowed more to come in from Europe.
His seat of the pants, incoherent response is the reason the U.S. is performing so abysmally in comparison to other developed nations. Number 8 in per capita deaths, 4% of world population, 20% of infection.
United States
Coronavirus Cases:
7,754,561
Deaths:
216,387
Joe Biden isn't president, I am not president; Donald J. Trump is president, and his response to the pandemic is pathetic. He no leader, he is a caricature, a weak man's idea of a strong man. Wheezing Mussolini at the balcony.
So masks won't protect us from the virus?
Oh, you see, that's not fair,Remember the white house has had more recent infections than those nations have.
