The White House says Trump's doctor misspoke when he earlier said that the president was "72 hours" into his illness.

A White House official told reporters that Dr Sean Conley had meant to say that Trump was on "Day 3" of the infection, counting from Thursday evening.

Seventy-two hours would place the president's diagnosis on Wednesday morning before he travelled to Minnesota.

The White House also said that another member of Trump's medical team had meant to say that it was "Day 2" and not 48 hours since the experimental drug Regeneron was administered to Trump.

No way to be sure, but they were not only packed together for a long time, but a lot of these people knew each other, so there was likely a lot of up close socializing.

Me thinks Rubio doth protest too much. His motives could be many.

It's not like you can believe the WH to be truthful about POTUS's health. And by that I mean any WH.

FDR was seriously ill when he was reelected for the 4th time. JFK actually suffered from a rare disease and most of that was covered up. Reagan during the last two years of his Presidency was suffering from Alzheimer's. Woodrow Wilson had a stroke and the country was run secretly by his wife Edith Gault and advisers.

Nope. It is not like this strain is "particularly virulent". This event has unusually high scrutiny level (contact tracing etc), so we know exactly who, when, where. That gives illusion of scaaary unusual virulency.

I agree with all those comments. Pretty stupid to not just say. The one that was particularly dishonest was trying to hide who Trump infected (the timeline question). It's not like we're not going to find out.

It's still an unusual event to have that many people packed that close together for a long time. We have also been told many times that everybody entering the White House must pass a rapid covid test. So presumably all those people making each other sick had actually just tested negative for covid.

Either this test is worthless due to very high chance of false negative, or someone is... less than scrupulous... with application of those tests. Or both.

On other hand, only one overlooked asymptomatic spreader could be enough.

Exactly. I'd like him to end up on a ventilator and then be obviously infirm due to his disbelief in the virus. It would be even better if he ended up taking the quack remedies that he promoted.

And the only reason for that is because I think that would be the best way of discrediting him.

Best way to get him to understand it isn't a mild flu and Trump and his cronies are not invincible.
