NBC News reported within the past hour:
Of the six, at least two of them are Secret Service agents, according to a law enforcement official...A White House official told NBC News that the administration is aware of the staffers who tested positive but declined to comment. A source familiar with the matter said that the campaign is doing contact tracing, but also noted that staffers have been in Oklahoma for a week. The majority have not been wearing masks, were going out to restaurants and weren't taking precautionary measures because of the pandemic. NBC News link

NBC News reported within the past hour:
That brings up another question, how many staffers in total were there ahead of time? If they did 100 tests, is that the number? Seems high.

Were they all mixing with each other and/or locals like at restaurants? And what is the role now of the 'uninfected' staffers? Just how many are quarantined? Contacts if the staffers, but what about the people who went to different restaurants, or went to the same restaurants but weren't considered 'direct' contacts of the 6 staffers?

Then of course, if six staffers got infected in Tulsa, what does that say about how many people attending the event are also infected? We all know taking a temperature is hardly sufficient.

What I cringe at is the difference between Tulsa health officials -- and a lot of them are Republicans -- and the trump crew. Look at the way they respond to the fear the rally may be dangerous:

So Tulsa officials are concerned with people's health and issuing warnings. The trump administration? About what you'd expect.

While trump administration officials "dismissed concerns" they also decided to require that attendees sign a waiver, you know 'just in case' they get sick they don't get any funny ideas about suing trump. Even by donald trump's standards, that is really shameful. :(
Not to worry! Rally attendance is substantially below expectations; the overflow area is being dismantled as I type because, well, there wasn't any.
Antifa and the lugenpresse are of course responsible.

I thought the cameras wouldn't show the empty seats but they just did. Upper level is more empty than not.

There are a handful of people wearing masks. The camera just showed a very pregnant woman wearing one. These people have not heard, the masks don't do a lot of good if everyone around you isn't wearing them.

They just blasted some recordings of Trump claiming they are all fighting the 'enemy' or something. "A few standing up..." that sort of thing.

They flubbed a couple seconds of the wrong entrance song. He's close to people but they are mostly video-cam instead of yelling. I want to see him getting exposed like the audience is. He's a bit removed, but all that yelling and chanting, that whole stadium could be teeming.

Well, I've seen enough.

Maybe there's hope after all. :(

In a way I feel sorry for some of the people attending the trump rally in Tulsa. I lived in Oklahoma for 18 months while I was in the service and I liked it a lot. I've been back several times on visits. I actually started looking for a job there before my Army enlistment ended. The job market was not too good at the time but if I had been hired by one of the companies I applied to, who knows? Today I might be oklahomaguy. ;)

I hate to see people get played the way trump plays them. he tells people there's no real reason not to come to the rally -- only because he places great importance on being able to draw big crowds -- because he knows that's a lie. There are many very good reasons to stay home. The trump people know the risk the attendees are taking which is why they decided to make people sign a liability waiver absolving trump of liability if rally goers get sick. trump doesn't care whether they live or die, just so long as they show up when he whistles. Such profound disrespect for his own supporters, yet they either can't see it or won't let themselves see it. Which is many things, but one is sad.

Viruses don't do what? Don't many viruses such as the flu really wane in the warmer months.
Just for the record I don't like the idea of having a rally in a full indoor venue.
But then I don't like sitting presidents taking the time to campaign in the best of times.

Viruses don't obey the Law of Wishful Thinking. Treatments and vaccines don't have a schedule on which they will magically appear and highly contagious viruses don't just disappear for no reason.

He should be riding on the wagon, though. The guy behind the wagon isn't really making life much tougher for the folks doing the actual work.

Riding? Wouldn't it be more like trying to push the wagon over or jumping on it in a way that damages it?

Hiding under the wagon, standing in the way of the wagon, kicking the wagon, having the wagon take him golfing, have tantrums at the people pulling the wagon, bragging that his wagon is the biggest ever, neglecting the wagon in favour of hamberders and FOX and Friends, and taking directions from Putin on where the wagon is really going to go. So many possibilities.

Maybe there's hope after all. :(

At first I thought the pair in the bottom right had gone to wrong rally, but then I realised what their shirts actually said
