Yes it can. It’s actually quite toxic. It’s just not as dangerous as malaria or lupus if taken in controlled doses.

But, but, but, .... Donnie said it wouldn't kill you so it must be true!

By "it can't hurt" I meant that doctors prescribing it know what the safe dosage (1 gram) is and taking it at the proper dosage would not hurt.

Psalm 33:18-20 "But the LORD watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love.
He rescues them from death and keeps them alive in times of famine.
We put our hope in the LORD. He is our help and our shield. "

Where do you go when the storms of life are greater than what you can endure and when the winds and the waves are crushing your dreams? You go to the one whom the winds and waves obey. His name is Jesus.

“And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.”
Matthew 21:9 Herb

I'm sure the 68,000 who have died so far from coronavirus would really appreciate this, Donnie. Sorry, but for the POTUS, or whichever staffer sent this pablum, to be re-tweeting these Christian psalms is just....ugh.

What I hear from Trump is "We have to get back to work!"

What I don't hear is, "Here is our plan to get back to work."

On a related note, I hear "We are doing a fantastic job on getting tests! Look at how many tests we are putting out!"

What I don't hear is, "Here are the number of tests we want, and here's how we are going to get them."

(Repeat the above for masks, or ventilators, or toilet paper.)

Pelosi has pointed out this before in other of Trump's dealings: That's a goal, not a plan.

As the "boss" he's never had to actually come up with a plan of his own. He can just order people to get it done, and let them come up with a solution (interestingly, Ross Perot was the same way, if you listened to his "plans" for solving the problems he was bitching about, they were "get people in the room and solve it.") It's not leadership, it's bossing people around.

And Trump himself made this pretty clear at one of his press conferences the other day. He said he was a cheerleader for the country. And of course, the cheerleaders aren't the ones who have to score the points. He thinks his job is to give people hope, and so if even a few people feel hope after listening to him, he thinks he's done his job, even if people are still dying unnecessarily.

@BorisJohnson
Thank you to everyone who is saving lives by staying at home this weekend.
I know it's tough, but if we all work together and follow the guidance we will beat #coronavirus.

Trumpy DOES know Boris isn't an American...right? ...right???

Oh and has he mentioned this stay-at-home stuff to those dickhead holdout states and latecomers-to-reality like Florida?

We are learning much about the Invisible Enemy. It is tough and smart, but we are tougher and smarter!

I will be having a White House CoronaVirus Task Force meeting in a short while. May or may not do a News Conference after the meeting, depending on new information. Talks & meetings today are proving promising, but a rough two weeks are coming up!

We're smarter than a virus? That's really damning with faint praise.

I wonder at the psychology that declares a virus "smart". "Tough" I can kind of see, but I don't get "smart", when applied to a virus.

Bush2 did something I didn't think possible. He made me wistful for Bush1, Dole, and other Republicans I previously held in extremely low esteem.

Trump did something far, far more improbable. He made me wistful for Bush2.

Every Republican POTUS is worse than the previous ones. It makes me wonder just how bad the next one will be. Will he be just as evil as Trump but competent as well?

It is so that he can claim that he is smarter, and therefore winning.

Even a virus is smarter than Trump.

Trumpism spread among the GOP like a virus killing brain cells.

"We've had vicious kings and we've had idiot kings, but l don't know if we've ever been cursed with a vicious idiot for a king."

There are numerous reports that the White House not only ignored warnings about the seriousness of this coronovirus, but rejected preparation for possible pandemics. It's inconceivable that any Democratic president would have said "It's all gonna disappear, like a miracle." There was a choice.

And before 9/11 Bush received a Presidential Daily Brief titled, "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in the U.S."

Anyway, as Timhau said, this Coronavirus was probably going to get here anyway. Trump definitely leads one of the more incompetent administrations (a "team of vipers"). It is almost impossible to fathom anyone, Democrat or Republican, saying the virus will disappear "like a miracle," or giving himself a 10 out of 10. I still blame Americans. We haven't known the Electoral College is stupid? Who could have possibly known a narcissistic game show host wouldn't make a great leader? We're definitely not going to elect some ugly broad with a doctorate in quantum chemistry.

I dunno. I kinda like the sound of President Pat Sajak. Or maybe President Bob Barker. President Monty Hall has a nice ring but he's dead.

Just heard part of his rambling reply to a question I missed.

He observed that rushing a vaccine could have harmful consequences, but trying this malaria drug just has to happen right now because we can't wait for proper testing.

I was watching his comments with my mother yesterday, when he was talking about taking those drugs. He said something like, "What could it hurt?"

My mother the retired nurse had a few things to say about that.
