Yeah, if you ignore the Tea-Party's deliberate efforts to keep them from re-stocking.

Also, those things have a life-span. Obama could have kept the pile completely intact and most of them still wouldn't have been usable.

More efforts to shift blame from this pile-of-grift-and-ineptitude that sometimes walks.

Some days back he said the US wasn't made to be shut down. I had the same immediate thought then; what countries are?

I bet most people don't even bother to read the linked article which is not as vindicating of Trump as they want you to think:

ProPublica reported on April 3 that congressional budget battles in the early years of the Obama administration contributed to stockpile shortages. But the article notes available funds were used not to replenish masks: "With limited resources, officials in charge of the stockpile tend to focus on buying lifesaving drugs from small biotechnology firms that would, in the absence of a government buyer, have no other market for their products, experts said. Masks and other protective equipment are in normal times widely available and thus may not have been prioritized for purchase, they said."During the presidency of Donald Trump, analysts have warned the United States is not prepared for a serious pandemic

Yeah, that's exactly the right plan: to have people representing industries that are hurt by stay-at-home orders deciding when we should relax those orders. What could go wrong?

Yes it can. It’s actually quite toxic. It’s just not as dangerous as malaria or lupus if taken in controlled doses.

If it were just for a couple, the ground based temporary facilities are far more than enough (and honestly wouldn't be needed anyways). Either way, if testing were up to par, there'd be little to complain about. That situation is getting much better as time goes on (from an abysmal beginning), but when testing is still a very definite bottleneck, this is an entirely expectable outcome. Yes, they're altering the requirements a bit in light of that so that they can more meaningfully actually help - but that's a decidedly unfortunate step to have strong reason to take in the first place and there's good reason to be quite unhappy about the situation from multiple angles.

Pat Buchanan really hurt George Bush's reelection chances in 1992. I was hoping that someone would do that to Trump this time, but William Weld and Joe Walsh weren't going to be able to do it.
